Three new Wisconsin football assistants to be paid a combined $1.375 million in Year 1

MADISON – University of Wisconsin officials on Monday provided the contracts of three new football assistants, Colin Hitschler, Paul Haynes and Greg Scruggs.

All three contracts run through March 31, 2025.

Hitschler, the co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach, is to be paid $550,000 annually.

Haynes, the cornerbacks coach, is to be paid $425,000 in Year 1 and $450,000 as of April 1, 2024. Hank Poteat, who coached UW’s cornerbacks last season, had an annual salary of $270,300.

Scruggs, the defensive line coach, is to be paid $400,000 in Year 1 and $425,000 as of April 1, 2024. Ross Kolodizej, who coached UW’s defensive line last season, had an annual salary of $425,000.
