Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has opened up about his acting insecurities ahead of the show's eighth and final season.

Kit's character Jon Snow is a man of honour and great battle instincts, but according to the 32-year-old actor, he's not the most "showy" type of hero.

That's what we have The Hound for though, right?

However, speaking to Variety in a recent interview, Kit reflects on how he's not particularly pleased with "70% of the scenes" that his character appears in.

"Looking back at the entirety of Thrones, there'll be 70% of the scenes that I'll just never be happy with. I've come to terms with that," he noted, although it sounds like the upcoming season will mark a bit of a turnaround for Kit on that front.

"I know who this is now, and I'm at peace with who this is," he added. "I just got a feeling that it's the most satisfied I will be with my work as Jon Snow."

The actor also opened up about the criticism his character received in the early seasons of the show, where Jon Snow was dubbed "boring", explaining: "That got to me after a while.

"I was like, 'I love him. He’s mine and I love playing him'. Some of those words that were said about it stuck in my craw about him being less entertaining, less showy.

"I now look back and I go, well, I was a f**king integral part of that whole thing," he added. "Jon was, and I am, and I'm proud of it. It took me a long time to not think, I'm the worst thing in this."

Game of Thrones season 8 will premiere on April 14, 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. Season 7 is now available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray or digital download.
