Thrush Aircraft to add 125 jobs at Albany facility

Jun. 9—ALBANY — A local manufacturer with a long history in Albany is looking at nearly doubling its workforce.

Thrush Aircraft announced Thursday that it is looking to hire more than 125 employees over the next year to join the 170 currently working at the plant.

The company, which has been in business since the 1970s, plans to hire more workers after that time and also is looking to get approval for two new aircraft models.

"The new product takes a new combination of our best airframe and our new engines to create a combination that is the best of both worlds," Thrush CEO Mark McDonald said during a Thursday morning news conference.

Thrush builds precision aerial application aircraft used in agricultural and firefighting roles at its Albany facility.
