Thunderstorm Brings Pouring Rain and Flash Floods to Las Vegas Area

Heavy rain hit Las Vegas, Nevada, and the surrounding area late Tuesday night, September 13, causing localized flash flooding, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Video posted by Travis Morgan on Tuesday shows pouring rain and flashing lightning in Las Vegas. Morgan said “desert flash floods are crazy.”

Emergency responders rescued people from vehicles submerged in floodwater in the early hours of Wednesday, according to local officials.
