A thunderstorm cell hit the Hog Fire burning in California’s northeast on July 21, bringing some moisture to the area as firefighters battled the blaze.
Timelapse video taken from Hamilton Mountain shows the moment the storm blew over the fire site, changing the direction and intensity of the smoke billowing into the sky.
A hail storm was created by the interaction of the weather system and think smoke clouds from the fire, according to news reports.
