Thunderstorms heading toward Hampton Roads on Wednesday night could bring some flooding, small hail and strong winds.

Rain is expected after 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield.

Hampton Roads could expect a half-inch to an inch of rainfall with higher amounts expected, meteorologist Mike Montefusco said over the phone. Areas with poor drainage could see flooding.

Though there is a chance for small hail, Montefusco said the main threats are wind gusts and heavy rain.
