Thursday roundup: Jackson golfer Jordan Kish wins medalist honors at Brunswick Tee-Off Classic

HINCKLEY - Jackson’s Jordan Kish shot a 3-under 68 to take medalist honors during the Brunswick Tee-Off Classic at Pine Hills Golf Club on Thursday.

Kish’s career-best round led Jackson to a third-place finish (308) in the 20-team field. Hoban’s Nolan Haynes also shot a 68, but Kish won a tiebreaker for medalist by shooting a 33 on the back nine to Haynes’ 34.

Green’s Kyle Smith shot a 1-over 72 to finish tied for fourth individually. The Bulldogs were fifth as a team at 315.

Hoban, with all four scorers shooting 75 or better, took first with a 288. St. Ignatius also had all four scorers at 75 or better and took second at 292.

Carrollton boys golf wins fourth straight tournament to begin season

ZANESVILLE – The Carrollton boys golf team made it 4-for-4 in tournaments on the young season as it won the Circle K Invitational at Eaglesticks on Thursday.

Jaxon Rinkes shot a 2-over 70 to win medalist honors, leading the Warriors to a first-place 299. That was seven strokes better than second-place John Glenn.

Colton Moore added a 75 for Carrollton while John Birong and Cayden Rininger each shot 76.
