Thursday roundup: Perry Panthers wrestling dominates in Federal League win vs. Lake

HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING

PERRY 61, LAKE 9 Seven Perry wrestlers registered pins as the Panthers rolled to a Federal League win against visiting Lake on Thursday night.

Emeric McBurney (106-pound match), Marshall Geckler (132), Landon Johnson (138), Christian Giltz (144), Izak Tolarchyk (190), Logan Shephard (215) and Aiden Fockler (285) all won by pin for the Panthers, who have won 23 straight Federal League championships.

Lake’s Kyle Casperson won by pin in the 165-pound match.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL

CLAYMONT 61, EAST CANTON 37 Tori Reichard scored 12 points in the Wizards’ road loss. East Canton trailed 19-1 after the first quarter.

Bailey Eddleman hit three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points for Claymont. Emily Grant added 12 points for the Mustangs.
