Thursday's high school scores: Taunton baseball tops New Bedford

TAUNTON — Make that back-to-back shutout wins for Taunton baseball.

After beating Mansfield Wednesday in a 6-0 shutout, the Tigers downed New Bedford 8-0 at home in non-league action Thursday to improve to 15-3 overall.

Propelled by a six run third inning, Taunton cruised to victory as Shawn Cali through a complete game shutout.

The Tigers return to action Monday when they face Milford.

Bridgewater-Raynham 9, Brockton 0

The Trojans shutout the Boxers on the road to improve to 11-5 overall.

James Nichols earned the win for B-R, going three and a third innings giving up a hit while striking out three. At the plate, Nolan DeAndrade led the way going one-for-four with an RBI and a triple while Colin Ronayne went two-for-three, Tyler Cattoggio went two-for-four with a double and Mike Logiudice went one-for-two with a triple.

The Trojans return to action Monday when they face New Bedford.

Taunton 3, King Philip 0

The Tigers swept the Warriors on the road to improve to 5-12 on the season.

Taunton returns to action Monday when they travel to Greater New Bedford.

Milford 3, Dighton-Rehoboth 0

The Falcons fell on the road to the Scarlet Hawks in three straight sets of Tri-Valley League action and are now 4-11 on the season.

D-R returns to action Monday when they travel to Fall River to face Durfee.
