GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Appleton North 3, Neenah 0

APPLETON - The Lightning swept the Rockets 25-14, 25-11, 25-7 in a Fox Valley Association match.

Karissa Fortune had 12 kills and 10 digs, Maggie Hahnke had 16 assists, Ella Weber had 14 assists, and Ella Demetrician had 11 kills and seven digs for North.

Ella Brinkhoff added eight digs, Madeline Koshuta had five kills and six blocks, and Teegan Charapata and Olivia Lasee each had four kills.

"Our girls executed at a very high level tonight," North coach Steve Scheuerell said.

Leading performers for Neenah were Kenzie Ullrich with nine digs, Jenna Lawatsch with seven digs, Claudia Merizon with five digs, three assists and two kills, and Makenna Baker with two kills.

“With North having weapons at every position, it’s hard to find open court to swing at," Neenah coach Emily Bennett said. "We fought but just couldn’t figure it out at the end of long rallies."

Appleton West 3, Oshkosh West 2

OSHKOSH - The Terrors won the final two sets to hold off the Wildcats 13-25, 25-21, 21-25, 27-25, 16-14 in a Fox Valley Association match.

Leading Appleton West were Audrey Rosenbaum with 20 kills and four aces, Siena Busalacchi with five blocks, Claire Crawford with 26 assists and Neveah Hernandez with 14 digs.

Sydnee Nelson had 12 kills and Maeve Lasky had eight kills for Oshkosh West. Kierstin Martin gave out 18 assists while MaKaelyn Clark chipped in nine. Maddi Choinski paced the defense with 23 digs and Martin had 10.

Xavier 3, Menasha 0

APPLETON - The Hawks moved to 18-4 overall and 2-0 in the Bay Conference with a 25-11, 25-14, 25-7 win over the Bluejays.

Leading Xavier were Mariah Potter with six aces and 25 assists, Haley Flick with three aces, Elle Downs with two kills, Madison Daley with three aces, two kills, four assists and three digs, Bree Ramczyk with two kills, Belle Shea with four aces and eight digs, Halle Vande Hey with 10 kills, Mattea Kiepert with eight kills, Annika Kowalski with four aces and five kills, and Olivia Neumann with four kills.

Freedom 3, Marinette 1

MARINETTE - The Irish defeated the Marines 25-15, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15.

Leading performers for Freedom were Elayna Christensen with 12 digs, Sydney Bartels and Evelyn Wall-Perkins with 15 and 12 kills apiece, and Rachel Koss with four aces and 33 assists.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Hilbert 0

HILBERT - The Zephyrs swept the Wolves 25-8, 25-21, 25-14.

Leading performers for SMC were Stella Virlee with 13 assists, Olivia Noel with 11 assists, Eliana Brenn with 11 kills, Lauren Fischer with seven kills, and Katie Laemmrich with 11 digs.

Kaylie Hernke led Hilbert with five kills and three blocks.

BOYS SOCCER

Kimberly 3, Kaukauna 0

KIMBERLY - The Papermakers jumped out to a quick lead on a Chase Mayo goal near the end of the second minute, assisted by Brennan Paradiso.

In the 24th minute, Jose Miranda scored on an assist by Alex Helbing.

To round out the scoring, Eli Rudolph scored on a free kick in the 78th minute.

Kimberly had 13 shots, 10 of which were on goal, while Kaukauna had two shots on goal.

Cooper Hoffman had two saves for the Papermakers.

Oshkosh West 1, Hortonville 0

OSHKOSH - John Munson scored in the 71st minute with the assist by Max Maslowski to lead the Wildcats past the Polar Bears at Titan Stadium.

Sean Godfrey had six saves in goal for Oshkosh West.

Fox Valley Lutheran 5, Freedom 1

APPLETON - Mason Londre scored two goals for the Foxes in the North Eastern Conference win.

Jin Lee, John Callaway and Lincoln Fleming also scored for FVL. Reed Curtis and John Callaway each had two assists.

Matthew Callaway made six saves in goal for the Foxes.

Freedom’s goal was scored by Andres Chavez.

St. Mary Catholic 1, Kohler 1

FOX CROSSING - Grant Bergstrom scored at 13:42 with an assist from AJ Groppel, but Kohler answered with a goal by Brecken Chec on an assist from Brody Duchow at 43:54 as the Zephyrs and Blue Bombers battled to a tie.

St. Mary Catholic outshot Kohler 17-3 as Blue Bombers goalie Zane Willadsen made seven saves, while Zephyrs goalie Hunter Schreiber had two.

With the tie, SMC moved to 5-0-2 on the season.

Winnebago Lutheran 3, Clintonville 0

CLINTONVILLE - Seth Schroeder scored two goals and Max Hansmann added one as the Vikings blanked the Truckers. Louis Schultz and Spencer Kertscher added assists.

Nick Russ had six saves for WLA.

“This was one of our best performances of the year,” Vikings coach David Haag said. “Our back line of Noah Walta, Keynen Wisse, Landon Spranger and Liam Clark did a great job of keeping our team organized throughout the game, and earned a well-deserved clean sheet against a really good team.”
