Division 1

West De Pere Sectional

DE PERE - Ben Smith of Hortonville earned a pair of first-place finishes in the sectional competition, capturing titles in both the shot put and discus in the boys meet.

Smith won the shot put with a put of 59.55 and the discus with a throw of 187-9.

In the girls meet, Eliza Aitken of West De Pere won the pole vault at a height of 11-3 and the 400-meter dash with a time of :56.86. Teammate Kate Schmoll won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:04.43 and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:09.22.

Appleton North’s Kalea Weyenberg won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of :12.21 and :24.94, respectively.

Division 2

Little Chute Sectional

LITTLE CHUTE - Simon Alexander had quite the sectional track meet for Denmark.

Alexander took first place in three events in the boys meet, winning the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of :10.91, :22.34 and :51.12, respectively.

Valders’ Shane Griepentrog took home first in the 1,600 in 4:15.23 and in the 3,200 in 9:15.39.

Little Chute’s Gavin Fritsch won both weight events, taking the shot put with a put of 56-9.75 and the discus with a throw of 159-7.

Kyle Wisniewski of New London took the long jump and the triple jump with jumps of 22-4.25 and 44-8.75, respectively.

In the girls meet, Freedom’s Grace Hambel took first in the 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of :25.37 and :58.19.

Hope Barington of Notre Dame swept the hurdles events with times of :15.82 in the 100 and :47.24 in the 300.

Freedom won both team titles.

Rosholt Sectional

ROSHOLT - Lourdes Academy won the girls team title with 55 points, while Athens won the boys title with 50 points.

Kendal Stingle of Shiocton won the 100 and 300 hurdles events, Morgan Schnelle of Edgar won the 100 and 200 dashes, and Sophia Bablitch of Rosholt won the 800 and the 1,600.

In the boys meet, Cade Stingle of Shiocton won the 110 and 300 hurdles events, and Adam Eiden of Pacelli won the 800 and the 1,600.

SOFTBALL

Division 1 regional finals

Green Bay Preble 11, Pulaski 1

GREEN BAY - Brooke Hock and Katie Geydoshek combined to pitch a two-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Hornets bounced the Red Raiders in five innings.

The Hornets’ 12-hit attack was led by Ava DeBaker with three hits and Ashley Wolfe and Sam Foytik with two each.

Olivia Kubiak had both of the Red Raiders’ hits.

The win moved Preble to 24-4 overall, while Pulaski finished at 17-7.

Ashwaubenon 10, Appleton North 0

ASHWAUBENON - Gianna Guarascio and Nyia Marohl each went 2-for-3 for the Jaguars with a home run and two runs scored, and Guarascio had four RBIs to Marohl’s three.

Olivia Zabel crossed the plate to score three times for Ashwaubenon and also, along with Guarascio, swiped a couple bases.

Berritt Herr earned the victory pitching all five innings, giving up just one hit while striking out 12.

Reagan Schwarz tallied the lone base hit for the Lightning.

Hortonville 13, West De Pere 3

HORTONVILLE - Maggie Werner, Bella Dontje and Paige Lillie each drove in three runs to power the Polar Bears.

Dontje had three hits, Werner had two hits and a home run, and Lillie also had two hits. Bridget Moen added three hits for Hortonville.

Division 2 regional finals

Luxemburg-Casco 7, Denmark 4

LUXEMBURG - After Denmark tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth, the Spartans answered with four runs of their own in the bottom half en route to the regional final win.

Rebecca Kroll picked up the win, while Amber Johanek took the loss.

Leading the Luxemburg-Casco offense were Grace Kahr, who was 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs; Payton Kaminsk, who tripled, drove in a run and scored a run; Kylie Hanson, who was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI; and Josie Dorner, who was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Tara Dellemann had the hot bat for Denmark, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Also leading the Vikings were Ashlyn Schultz with two RBIs, and Dakota Brice, who was 2-for-3 with a double.

Luxemburg-Casco will play the winner of Friday's game between Freedom and Seymour.

Division 3 regional finals

Amherst 5, Oconto 1

OCONTO - The Falcons scored two runs in the first inning and two in the third on the way to the regional final win.

Sydney Jastromski hit a home run and drove in three runs for Amherst. Haley Peskie had two hits.

Alyse Viestenz had two hits and an RBI for Oconto.

Peskie was the winning pitcher. She tossed a complete game, allowed seven hits and struck out two.

Division 4 regional finals

Iola-Scandinavia 5, Algoma 3

WAUPACA - The Thunderbirds rallied from an early three-run deficit, scoring once in the first, three times in the third and once in the fourth to earn the regional win.

Alexa Christoph and Jaelyn Sivertson each had three hits, including a triple for Christoph, and two triples for Sivertson to lead the Thunderbirds. Marin Hoyord had two hits, while Hoyord and Chloe Timdal each drove in two runs.

Thunderbirds pitcher Maddie Much went the distance to earn the win. Much allowed six hits, no walks and had three strikeouts. Much gave up four of her six hits in the first two innings and then settled down and let her defense help her out.

Division 5 regional finals

Sevastopol 6, Niagara 1

STURGEON BAY - Libby Ash threw a one hitter and had six strikeouts in six innings of work and Addison Schauske pitched the seventh and struck out the side as the Pioneers advanced to sectionals.

Ash was also solid at the plate, going 2-for-2, while Kristen Daubner was 2-for-2 with a two-run double. The Pioneers had 10 stolen bases between Daubner, Kayla Ranly and Bailey Rikkola.

BASEBALL

Division 2 regional quarterfinals

Wrightstown 1, Fox Valley Lutheran 0

WRIGHTSTOWN - Isaac Rodgers hit a solo home run in the second inning and Jack Hermann pitched a shutout to lead the Tigers over the Foxes.

Rodgers’ home run was one of just four hits for Wrightstown, which included a double by Preston Winkler.

Hermann pitched the complete game for Wrightstown, allowing four singles, no walks and struck out 12.

Malachi Kramer, who took the loss, pitched well for Fox Valley Lutheran, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out three.

Owen Gerhardt had two of Fox Valley Lutheran’s four hits.

Division 3 regional quarterfinals

Peshtigo 1, Bonduel 0

BONDUEL - Peshtigo and Bonduel battled in a pitcher’s duel as Cade Johnson and Jake Berth matched each other pitch for pitch. Berth picked up the win, allowing two hits in seven innings, while striking out five.

After both teams went scoreless with only one hit each through three innings, Peshtigo’s Landon Lemke led off the fourth with a walk and then stole second. After a strikeout, Caleb Klimek singled to right to score Lemke.

Both pitchers shut down the bats the rest of the way. Reece Stoltenow doubled and Noah Weier added a single for Bonduel’s two hits.

Koby Cuyler, Klimek and Landon Beyer had singles for Peshtigo.

Johnson took the loss, going 6⅔ innings, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out seven.

Bonduel finishes its season at 8-10.

Oconto 15, Menominee Indian 0

OCONTO - Conner Christensen pitched a five-inning no-hitter with two walks while striking out eight batters as the Blue Devils cruised past the Eagles.

Luke Krueger got the offense rolling in the bottom of the first with a deep solo home run, sparking a five-run inning for the Blue Devils.

Alex Fuller was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Ethan Wusterbarth 2-for-2 with a walk and a triple and two RBIs, Rylie Anderson 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Brady Shallow 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Kewaunee 20, Hilbert 0

KEWAUNEE - The Storm sturck early and often in the regional win over the Wolves.

Kewaunee scored twice in the first inning, seven runs in the second and 11 in the third.

Mitchell Thompson was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, while Cal Ihlenfeldt was 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Kewaunee. Sawyer Pribek was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Owen Carlson also drove in three. Banging out two hits each were Payton Kohnle and Cain Hall.

Parker Kleppen had Hilbert’s only hit.

Crivitz 15, Gillett/Suring 1

CRIVITZ - The Wolverines scored four runs in the second inning and broke open the game with nine runs in the fourth in the five-inning win over the Tigers.

Dillan Gehm and Chad Schroeder both drove in three runs for Crivitz, while Eli Gruszynski drove in two. Gruszynski and Schroeder both had three hits, with Gehm hitting a double and Schroeder a triple. Gehm, Seth Sellen and Logan Goltz each had two hits. Gehm had a double and Goltz had a triple.

Taron Haak had a double and an RBI for Gillett/Suring.

Sean Christiansen pitched five innings for Crivitz, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Haak took the loss for Gillett/Suring.

Division 4 regional quarterfinals

Wausaukee 9, St. Thomas Aquinas 2

WAUSAUKEE - The Rangers used a three-run fifth and sixth to put the regional game out of reach.

Prestin Brunette paced the Wausaukee offense, going 2-for-3, while Kayden Suenen drove in a pair of runs.

The Rangers took advantage of five St. Thomas errors.

Connor Schroeder picked up the win, going six innings, allowing one hit and four walks, while striking out 10.

Teagan Anderson had the lone hit for St. Thomas.

LUXEMBURG - The Spartans erased a 1-0 halftime deficit to post the Senior Night victory.

Scoring goals for Luxemburg-Casco were Haley Paye, Heather Iverson and Lydia Morozov.

Tabi Lemens made four saves for the Spartans.
