Fox Valley Association Tournament

APPLETON - Neenah and Kimberly tied for the conference championship, both finishing with a combined 15 points.

Kimberly took first place in the conference tournament, with Neenah second, while Neenah took first and Kimberly was second in dual meet points.

It is the 10th consecutive conference championship for Neenah.

Julia Gurholt of Kimberly took first place at No. 1 singles, beating Melissa Petrinski of Fond du Lac 6-0, 6-2 in the championship match.

Neenah had individual titles from Izzy Murray at No. 2 singles, Sophie Hodek and Gabby Hackbarth at No. 2 doubles, and Ava Motto and Cecelia Alexander at No. 3 doubles.

Olivia Gaskill of Appleton North took first place at No. 3 singles and Kate McGinnis of Kimberly took first at No. 4 singles.

Keagan Potter and Kate Conger of Oshkosh West took first place at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Mia Bahr and Brooklyn Birschbach of Fond du Lac.

Lilly Kaminski and Regan Cavanaugh of Denmark, and Afina Budrecki of Plymouth advanced as individuals.

HORTONVILLE - The Rockets beat the Polar Bears in five sets 16-25, 25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 15-5 in a Fox Valley Association match.

“What a great battle against a tough Hortonville team,” Neenah coach Emily Bennett said. “We are so proud of how hard our girls fought until the final point.”

Claudia Merizon had a double-double for Neenah with 20 assists and 11 digs. She also had nine kills. Marissa Corso had a team-high 10 kills for Neenah. Jenna Lawatsch had 25 digs, Kenzie Ullrich 18 digs and Elizabeth Oldenburg 17 digs. Leia Kersten had 12 assists to go along with eight digs, and Carly Stamm had eight kills and six blocks.

Appleton North 3, Oshkosh West 0

APPLETON - The Lightning beat the Wildcats 25-8, 25-11, 25-17 in Fox Valley Association action.

Leaders for Appleton North were Elise Checkalski with 10 digs and two aces, Emerson Van Lannen with six aces, five digs, and 16 assists, Ella Weber with 14 assists and two kills, Ella Demetrician with six kills and four digs, Teegan Charapata with six kills and two aces, Karissa Fortune with nine kills, and Olivia Lasee with eight kills and two blocks.

Oshkosh West was led by Maeve Lasky with six kills, Maddi Choinski with 11 digs and Sydnee Nelson with three kills. Kierstin Martin added eight assists.

Appleton East 3, Appleton West 1

APPLETON - The Patriots defeated the Terrors 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20.

Appleton West was led by Audrey Rosenbaum and Monty Sykora with 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Claire Crawford had 36 assists and Neveah Hernandez had nine digs.

Xavier 3, West De Pere 0

APPLETON - The Hawks beat the Phantoms 25-7, 25-15, 25-18 to improve to 4-0 in the Bay and 25-5 overall.

Mariah Potter led Xavier with 27 assists, five digs and seven aces. Madison Daley added seven kills and six assists, Haley Flick had three aces and five digs, Mattea Kiepert had two aces, five kills and two blocks, Elle Downs and Bree Ramczyk each had four kills, and Belle Shea had nine digs.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Waupaca 0

WAUPACA - The Foxes beat the Comets 25-12, 25-19, 25-15 in a North Eastern Conference match.

Kennedy Schmitz had 21 digs for Fox Valley Lutheran. Savanna Charron had 16 assists. Samantha Kempinger and Sophia Wunderlich both had eight kills, Emma Nilson had seven kills and Kate Henze had six.

Menasha 3, Green Bay East 0

GREEN BAY - The Bluejays defeated the Red Devils 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Menasha improved to 4-17 overall with the win and 1-3 in the Bay Conference.

Green Bay East is now 0-5 in conference play.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Iola-Scandinavia 2

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs beat the Thunderbirds 25-19, 25-20, 19-25, 24-26, 15-4.

Leaders for SMC were Lauren Fischer with 13 digs and 13 kills, Audrey Norville with 21 digs, and Olivia Noel with 19 assists.

Coleman 3, Shiocton 1

COLEMAN - The Cougars defeated the Chiefs 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-14.

Coleman was led by Katie Knox with 23 kills. Aubrey Bintz was next with nine kills. Madelyn Hinther had 20 assists, while Sylvia Fochesato had 18.

BOYS SOCCER

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Wrightstown 0

WRIGHTSTOWN - Jin Lee, Billy Su and John Callaway each scored goals to lead the Foxes to the win over the Tigers.

Lincoln Fleming had two assists, while John Callaway had one.

Matthew Callaway had seven saves in goal for FVL.
