GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Division 1

Appleton North 3, Kaukauna 0

SUAMICO - The top-seeded Lightning advanced to the sectional final with a sweep of the Ghosts 25-19, 25-14, 25-17.

Appleton North will face Kimberly at Green Bay Preble on Saturday in the sectional championship.

Kimberly 3, Green Bay Southwest 2

SUAMICO - The second-seeded Papermakers defeated the third-seeded Trojans 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 15-13 to reach the sectional final.

Manitowoc 3, West Bend East 1

WATERTOWN - The Ships, a No. 2 seed, defeated the sixth-seeded Suns 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22 to reach the sectional final.

Manitowoc will face top-seeded Oconomowoc on Saturday.

River Falls 3, Marshfield 0

HUDSON - The second-seeded Wildcats swept the third-seeded Tigers 25-20, 28-26, 25-19 to advance to the sectional final.

Division 2

Xavier 3, Luxemburg-Casco 0

APPLETON - The top-seeded Hawks swept the second-seeded Spartans 25-20, 25-23, 25-15 to advance to the sectional final.

Xavier was led by Mariah Potter with 36 assists. Annnika Kowalski and Madison Daley both had 11 kills. Belle Shea had 15 digs and Olivia Neumann had nine kills.

Luxemburg-Casco won the last three Division 2 state championships.

“All the credit goes to (Xavier coach) Luke (Herriges) and his team,” Luxemburg-Casco coach Jeff Frey said. “They played well and put a lot of pressure on us. They were just better than us tonight. I am so incredibly proud of our ladies, night in and night out we got everyone’s best shot and they rose to the occasion so many times.

“What our team has been able to accomplish together over the past few seasons is incredible. The legacy our seniors leave behind is amazing, so much love and respect for our girls.”

Luxemburg-Casco was led by Alayna Deprez with 28 assists and nine digs. Kylie Hanson had 12 kills and nine digs. Autumn Flynn had 10 kills and Brooke VandeHei had 10 digs.

Xavier will play Tomahawk in Waupaca for the sectional title Saturday.

Tomahawk 3, Oconto Falls 1

TOMAHAWK - The top-seeded Hatchets downed the second-seeded Panthers 25-15, 25-17, 22-25, 25-20.

Division 3

Edgar 3, Auburndale 2

EDGAR - The top-seeded Wildcats defeated the Eagles in five sets 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 15-8 to win the sectional semifinal matchup.

Edgar will play Wittenberg-Birnamwood in Auburndale for the sectional title Saturday.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3, Weyauwega-Fremont 0

WITTENBERG - The Chargers defeated the Warhawks in straight sets 25-17, 25-12, 25-17 to advance to the sectional final.

Howards Grove 3, Oostburg 0

HOWARDS GROVE - The No. 1 seeded Tigers swept the No. 2 seeded Flying Dutchmen 25-12, 25-13, 25-13 to advance to the sectional final.

Division 4

NEW Lutheran 3, Sevastopol 1

GREEN BAY - The Blazers advanced to Saturday’s sectional final after defeating the Pioneers 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Greta Wise led NEW Lutheran with 22 kills. She also had 10 digs. Abby Kirchner had 38 assists and 10 digs. Emma Laatsch had 17 digs and 13 kills. Lexi Dhein had 20 digs, while Lexie Meerstein added seven kills and Kiera Adams-McIntosh had seven blocks.

Sevastopol was led by Emma Stueber with 41 assists, 12 digs two kills. Bailey Rikkola had 23 digs and seven aces, Johanna Andreae had 22 kills and 14 digs, and Alaina Schopf had 16 kills and 12 digs.

The Pioneers end the season with a 26-10 record.

The Blazers will play Monticello in Oshkosh in the sectional final.

Athens 3, Assumption 0

ATHENS - The second-seeded Bluejays swept the fifth-seeded Royals 25-12, 25-17, 25-21 to advance to the sectional final.

Wabeno/Laona 3, Lena 0

WABENO - The top-seeded Rebels swept the fourth-seeded Wildcats 25-17, 25-11, 25-6 to advance to the sectional final.

BOYS SOCCER

Division 1

Oshkosh West 5, Wisconsin Rapids 1

OSHKOSH - The Wildcats led 3-1 at halftime in their sectional semifinal win over the Red Raiders at Titan Stadium.

Aiden Dunn scored the only goal for Wisconsin Rapids, which finished the season with an 18-3-1 record.

Oshkosh West will play Hudson at 4 p.m. Saturday in Marshfield for the sectional championship.

Division 2

Pulaski 1, West De Pere 1

PULASKI - The Red Raiders advanced to Saturday’s sectional final by defeating the Phantoms 4-3 in a shootout.

Chase Ambrosius scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for Pulaski, putting the ball inside the left post and past the diving West De Pere goalkeeper

The teams played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and two overtime periods.

After a scoreless first half, Ryan Drafz put Pulaski ahead 1-0 in the 50th minute with an assist from Ambrosius.

In the 54th minute, Joseph Jepson tied the game for West De Pere with Tyler Kowalczyk getting the assist.

Mason Baker had three saves for Pulaski. Jonathon Romatowski had nine saves for West De Pere.

Pulaski, the No. 1 seed, will play fifth-seeded Tomah in the sectional final at 1 p.m. Saturday in Pulaski.

Division 3

Notre Dame 3, Fox Valley Lutheran 0

GREEN BAY - Emmett Lawton scored a hat trick to lead the Tritons to the sectional semifinal victory.

Notre Dame will play Plymouth at 1 p.m. Saturday in Seymour with a berth to the state tournament on the line.

Plymouth 4, Seymour 1

PLYMOUTH - The second-seeded Panthers defeated the third-seeded Thunder in the sectional semifinal.

Rhinelander 2, Medford 2

MEDFORD - The second-seeded Hodags defeated the Raiders 4-2 in the shootout after the teams played to a 2-2 tie.

Rhinelander will face Rice Lake on Saturday for the sectional title.

Division 4

Sturgeon Bay 1, Kiel 1

STURGEON BAY - The Clippers defeated the Raiders 7-6 in a shootout to advance to Saturday’s sectional final.

The teams played to a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime.

Second-seeded Sturgeon Bay will play top-seeded Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian in Kiel at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran 2, Kohler 0

SHEBOYGAN - Top-seeded Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran shut out the fourth-seeded Blue Bombers to advance to the sectional final.

Oostburg 2, University School of Milwaukee 0

OOSTBURG - The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the sectional final with the shutout victory.

Oostburg will play Cristo Rey Jesuit at The Prairie School in Racine at 1 p.m. Saturday in the sectional final.

Wisconsin Valley Conference Championships

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Stevens Point won the team title with 559 points.

Jenna Breitbach of Stevens Point was named swimmer of the year and Derek Steinke of Wausau East was the coach of the year.
