Thursday's HS roundup: Kortes, Brent pace York girls basketball to win

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine - McKayla Kortes and Ava Brent both scored eight points and led the York High School girls basketball team to a 50-36 win over Cape Elizabeth on Thursday in a Class B South showdown.

York, which trailed 19-14 at halftime, is now 2-6 on the season.

Emily Parisi and Ava Fontaine each scored six points for the Wildcats, who saw 11 different scorers.

MANCHESTER - Sophomore Lilly Nossif had 19 points and Abbie Kozlowski and Tory Vitko both had eight for Dover (5-2) in this Division I win.

BOYS BASKETBALL

YORK, Maine - Derek Parsons had 19 points and Connor Roberge had 17 for York (5-4) in this Class B South win.

Jacob Fogg (11 points, six assists) and Ty Regis (seven points, 10 rebounds) contributed for York, which trailed 30-18 in the second quarter.

St. Thomas Aquinas 76

LITCHFIELD - Freshman AJ Reinertson scored a game-high 28 points as the Saints improved to 6-1 with this Division III win.

Brady Rogers and Will Mollica had 21 and 15 points, respectively for St. Thomas.

“We came out strong and then took a huge hit in their third," St. Thomas coach David Morissette said. "Our response was terrific after they made their run. Quality win on the road for this young team.”
