Thursday's Top Prep Performers from baseball, softball, golf, tennis and swimming

Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

BASEBALL

  • Joseph Steventon allowed five hits and two runs while striking out four in a complete-game effort, Finley Buckner hit a three-run home run and finished with four RBIs, Quentin Young went 2 for 3 with a double, and Daniel Garcia was 1 for 2 with an RBI to lead Oaks Christian (12-8, 7-4) to a 5-2 win over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game. Brady Francisco was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Grant Rodriguez had a triple and an RBI for the Lancers (7-16, 3-8).

  • Michael Moran doubled and scored on a errant pickoff attempt for the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning, Braylen Dritz didn't allow an earned run while striking out six in a complete-game performance, Ethan Kearney was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Jack Burke went 2 for 3, Myles Kallinger was 2 for 4, and Luka Bladlow had a hit and an RBI to lead Agoura (9-12, 4-7) to a 3-2 victory over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Derek Turner allowed two earned runs while striking out 10 in six innings and was 2 for 3 at the plate for the Panthers (15-8, 6-5).

  • Lee Atkinson allowed just one hit while striking out four in 6.2 innings, Nate Castellon had a double and an RBI, Matthew Witkow hit a home run, and Desi Gonzalez went 2 for 4 to lead Calabasas (17-7, 7-4) to a 4-0 win over Westlake (15-9, 6-5) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Wylan Nelson allowed one hit and no earned runs while striking out four and went 1 for 3 with a double at the plate, Jon Gurrola hit a two-run single for the go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh inning, John Marshall was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Finn Hoover had a double and an RBI, Dash Lopez had a triple, and Josh Woodworth had a double and earned the save on the mound to lead Ventura (11-14, 4-8) to a 5-3 victory over Rio Mesa in a Channel League game. Mario Franco had a double and Alec Fontyn had a triple for the Spartans (12-11-1, 6-6).

SOFTBALL

  • Bela Nava was 3 for 4, Alehsandra Martinez and Abriele Ramirez had two hits apiece, and Kadyn Sanchez allowed three hits and struck out four as Santa Clara held off host St. Bonaventure 5-4 to take over sole possession of first place in the Tri-Valley League. The Saints are 10-4 overall and 6-1 in league play ahead of Tuesday's season-ending trip to Bishop Diego. Grace Bracamontes was 2 for 3 with two runs scored for St. Bonaventure (11-9, 5-2).

  • Justine Lambert finished 3 for 3 with three doubles and three RBIs, Heaven Oliva was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Liesl Osteen went 3 for 4 with an RBI, Ilove’a Brittingham was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Emelia Davis allowed two hits while striking out seven in five innings to lead Oaks Christian (23-1-1, 14-0) to an 11-1 victory over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game. Kylie Kolkowski hit a solo home run for the Lancers (7-17, 2-11).

  • Kaitlyn Bartlow pitched a six-hit shutout with nine strikeouts, Kaylee Clarkson finished 2 for 3 with two homers and five RBIs, and Nevaeh Silva hit a solo homer to lead Westlake (18-5-1, 8-4-1) to a 6-0 victory over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game.

  • Newbury Park (11-10, 7-6) defeated Agoura 8-4 in a Marmonte League game. Kayla Myatt had a double and two RBIs, Amaya Del Olmo had a double and an RBI, and Mia Gomez had a double for the Chargers (13-12-1, 6-6-1).

  • Mariana Palazuelos went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run, Jasmine Reyes pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts and was 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate, and Sarah Coccillos finished 2 for 3 to lead Rio Mesa (21-1-1, 12-0) to a 9-2 victory over Ventura in a Channel League game. Jessie Sebek was 3 for 4 with an RBI and Siena Lightcap had a double and an RBI for the Cougars (7-10, 4-6).

  • Amanda Smith pitched a complete game and hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, Savannah Mitchell had a two-run homer, and Cameron McGugan was 2 for 3 with two doubles to lead Oak Park (11-7, 3-4) to a 3-2 win over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Angie Aguilera finished 4 for 4 with a triple, two-run home run and four RBIs, Anayah Davis and Mia Cardenas each had a homer and two RBIs, Liliana Arana hit a solo homer, Natalie Segura was 2 for 2 with a double and an RBI, Madison Gray went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and KaiLea Reyes pitched a five-inning shutout with 12 strikeouts to lead Santa Paula (15-5, 13-1) to a 13-0 victory over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Danielle Bishop finished 3 for 3 with three RBIs, Kloey Juarez went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Jasmine Guzman was 3 for 4 with two doubles, Bella Rodriguez was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Jaelyn Perez went 1 for 4 with four RBIs, Izzy Rodriguez had a double and an RBI, and Tiffany Martinez had a hit and two RBIs to lead Foothill Tech (12-6, 2-5) to an 18-8, five-inning win over Bishop Diego in a Tri-Valley League game.

BOYS GOLF

  • Freshman Max Emberson was the medalist with a 4-under 68, Nick Waldock shot a 73 and Jared Abercrombie had a 74 as Oaks Christian finished with a team score of 372 to take first place in the fourth Marmonte League tournament at Soule Park Golf Course. The Lions have won all four league tournaments with two remaining. Ryan Arnold fired a 3-under 69 and Cooper Greenwood shot an even-par 72 for Agoura, which took second with a season-best 375. Conner Shackleford shot a 2-under 70, which included a double eagle on the par-5 sixth hole, and Christian Shackleford had an even-par 72 for Newbury Park, which took third with a 377. Freshman Merrick Jacobus shot a 74 and Gavin McCormick had a 75 for Thousand Oaks, which placed fourth with a 384. Jackson Turner had a 73 for fifth-place Westlake (395) and Ryan Mativi shot a 73 to lead sixth-place Calabasas (398).

  • Tyler Lumpkin was the medalist with a 2-over 74, Sahir Baylan shot a 75 and Anthony Nilson had a 76 as Simi Valley finished with a team score of 383 to take first place in the first Coastal Canyon League tournament at Tierra Rejada Golf Course. Alex Cheng shot a 77 and Vineet Vallamsetty had a 78 for second-place Oak Park (411). Morgan Wolff shot a 78 and Tyler Meister had an 81 for third-place Camarillo (425). Kemper Wilson shot a 77 and Nolan Breuklander had an 85 for fourth-place Moorpark (447). Lucas Vogel had an 87 and Nathan Schulz had an 89 for fifth-place Royal (463).

  • ​Thomas Chadbourne shot a 40 to lead Foothill Tech to a 229-289 win over Grace Brethren at Olivas Links Golf Course. Carson Coker was the medalist with an even-par 36 for the Lancers.

  • Dos Pueblos shot a 369, Pacifica had a 510 and Oxnard had a 530 in a Channel League tri-match at River Ridge’s Vineyard Course. Moises Gonzales led Pacifica (5-7) with a 96. Luke Rea shot a 91 for Oxnard (2-11).

BOYS TENNIS

  • Oak Park defeated Camarillo 14-4 to finish as unbeaten Coastal Canyon League champions and improve to 13-1 overall.

  • Newbury Park defeated Thousand Oaks 12-6 in a Marmonte League match.

BOYS SWIMMING

  • Dos Pueblos defeated Rio Mesa 90-77 in a Channel League meet. For Rio Mesa, Nick Santander won the 100 freestyle (49.59) and Michael Soho won the 100 breaststroke (1:05.67).

GIRLS SWIMMING

  • Dos Pueblos defeated Rio Mesa 67-14 in a Channel League meet.
