Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

BOYS WATER POLO PLAYOFFS

  • Senior goalie Bryce Biglin had 19 blocks, Tim Shen scored four goals, Chase Martsolf had two goals and Jorge Arevalo added a goal to lead Westlake to a 7-5 victory over host La Serna in a CIF-Southern Section Division 2 second-round game. The Warriors will visit San Juan Hills in a quarterfinal game Saturday.

  • Newbury Park lost to visiting Aliso Niguel 8-5 in a Division 2 second-round game.

  • Quentin Chatman scored seven goals, Laike Van Item finished with five goals, Logan Morgan had two goals, Cole Belavic had a goal, Presley Williams had six assists, and goalie Braeden Sanders had a goal and made 17 saves to lead top-seeded Thousand Oaks to a 17-3 win over visiting Claremont in a Division 3 second-round game. The Lancers will play at Rancho Cucamonga in a quarterfinal game Saturday.

  • Camarillo defeated visiting Los Altos 15-5 in a Division 4 second-round game. The Scorpions will host Chaparral in a quarterfinal game Saturday.

  • Foothill Tech lost to visiting Pasadena Poly 8-4 in a Division 4 second-round game.

  • Liam Besand finished with nine goals, Ethan Edwards had five goals and Ethan Okun and Derek Fennern each had a goal to lead Buena to a 16-3 victory over visiting Charter Oak in a Division 5 second-round game. The Bulldogs will host Tustin in a quarterfinal game Saturday.
