Thursday's Top Prep Performers from seven spring sports

Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • Savion Taylor finished with 30 kills and 14 digs, Jacob Casimiro had 48 assists, John Singh had nine kills, Peter Slade compiled seven kills, and Christian Tolentino contributed 20 digs as Pacifica (8-1, 5-0) defeated Oxnard 25-19, 19-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-9 to snap the Yellowjackets' 31-match winning streak in the Pacific View League. Narith Prak compiled 35 assists, Tommy Liston had 18 kills and 18 digs, and Noah Reveles finished with 10 kills for Oxnard (6-8, 4-1).

  • Nick Galaviz had 24 assists and two aces, James Shumaker finished with seven kills and two blocks, Richard Cousino had six kills and three digs, and Richard Nojadera added six kills to lead Rio Mesa to a 25-16, 25-19, 25-19 sweep of Channel Islands in a Pacific View League match.

  • Royal swept Camarillo in three sets in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Chase Nielsen had 10 kills and six stuff blocks, Tyler Jorden finished with 22 assists and

  • Matt Kyle had seven kills to lead Foothill Tech (6-3, 5-1) to a 25-13, 25-7, 25-15 sweep of Cate in a Tri-Valley League match.

BASEBALL

  • Evan Conant tied a school record with 16 strikeouts in a complete-game performance to lead Nordhoff to a 12-1 victory over Cate.

  • Sam Grunberg delivered a walk-off single, Phoenix Call was 2 for 3 and scored the game-winning run, and Sean Sims had a pinch-hit two-run single to lead Calabasas (9-2, 2-0) to a 4-3 win over Thousand Oaks (6-6, 0-2) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Joey Blank finished 4 for 5 with three RBIs, Max Price was 2 for 4 with a homer, Michael Moran had a double and an RBI, Myles Kallinger was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, and Braden Feliciano and Noah Thompson each had a hit and an RBI to lead Agoura (6-5, 1-1) to a 13-8 win over Westlake (9-4, 1-1) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Tommy Farmer was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Jaden Onaca went 1 for 1 with two RBIs, Finley Buckner finished 2 for 4 with a double, Chris Tampoya went 2 for 4, and Patrick Chute had a hit and an RBI to lead Oaks Christian (9-3, 2-0) to a 6-5 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Derek Turner and Max Amador each went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers (7-4, 0-2).

  • Evan De vally was 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI, Nate Hamburger went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, Rider Gordon finished 2 for 3, and Matt O Brien allowed four hits and one run in 5.2 innings to lead Royal (13-2, 4-2) to a 7-2 win over Camarillo (7-12, 2-6) in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Aiden Nykoluk finished 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and pitched two scoreless innings on the mound, Shane Alderete allowed two hits and one earned run with four strikeouts in five innings, Ethan Pena was 2 for 3 with four RBIs, and Andrew Nykoluk was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Simi Valley to a 14-2 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League game. Ben Sawyer was 1 for 3 with three RBIs, Landen Sawyer went 1 for 1 with a double and two RBIs, Eddie Zapata finished 2 for 3 with a double, Nico Ficele had a double and an RBI, and Landen Adair was 1 for 2 with an RBI for the Pioneers (11-4, 7-1).

SOFTBALL

  • Mari Ipatzi pitched a shutout, Maddie Smith was 2 for 2 with three RBIs, Lexi Gutierrez went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, KaLeena Gonzales finished 2 for 2 with two RBIs, and Reylene Reyes was 1 for 2 with two RBIs to lead Oxnard (8-3-1, 6-1) to a 10-0 victory over Buena in a Pacific View League game.

  • Lily Berlinger went 3 for 4 with three doubles and four RBIs, Mariah Elohim was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Emily Jones went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, London Gamble finished 2 for 3 with a double, homer and two RBIs, Kaylee Clarkson had a homer and two RBIs, Hailey Lindman was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Kaia Tan went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead Westlake (12-1, 7-1) to a 16-1 victory over Agoura in a Marmonte League game. Sydnie Lowry was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI for the Chargers (8-8, 2-6).

  • Micaela Kastor allowed just one hit while striking out five in four scoreless innings and was 1 for 3 with an RBI, Rylee McCoy hit a solo homer, Justine Lambert went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, and Liesl Osteen and Ilove'a Brittingham each went 2 for 3 with a double to lead unbeaten Oaks Christian to a 4-0 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Emelia Davis allowed just one hit while striking out five in three scoreless innings and Kamryn Guthrie finished 2 for 3 for the Lions (14-0, 8-0).

  • Jordan Arce pitched a three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and Rebecca Toporoff went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead Thousand Oaks to a 1-0 victory over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game.

  • Madison Finnerty struck out 16 in a complete-game effort and was 2 for 3 with a home run and four runs scored, Madison Zulager went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs, Daniela Isarraras finished 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs, and Driana Martinez went 2 for 4 with a homer to lead Moorpark (11-2, 2-2) to an 11-3 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League game. Grace Zeolla was 3 for 4 and Julia Spradling and Cameron McGugan each went 2 for 4 for the Eagles.

  • Joie Steinkamp struck out eight in the circle and was 3 for 4 with two RBIs at the plate, Cameron Kenny went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Alexis Bower was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Jaidyn Wilson was 1 for 2 with a sacrifice bunt to lead Grace Brethren (6-2-1, 3-1) to a 7-4 victory over St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League game.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

  • Ventura defeated Oxnard 82-45 in a Pacific View League meet. Azure Willard won the 110 hurdles (16.71) and 300 hurdles (43.62). AJ Monarres won the 200 (22.28) and 400 (51.17). Mason Jekogian won the 800 (1:56.65). Anthony Fasthorse won the 3,200 (10:20.78). Finn Fancher won the high jump (5-08) and triple jump (35-09). Erik MuroMurillo won the shot put (50-02). For Oxnard, Adrian Valdez won the 1,600 (4:25.08), Camren Harris won the 100 (11.09), and Alfred Adam won the discus (137-04).

  • Thousand Oaks defeated Oaks Christian 76-58 in a Marmonte League meet. Kanyen Chen won the 800 (2:04.92). Atticus Hall won the 1,600 (4:53.81). Charlie Ellis won the 3,200 (10:16.34). Wyatt Nowak won the discus (111-03). Powell Williams won the triple jump (40-0.25). Andrew Simon-Lacombe won the long jump (20-01.50). For Oaks Christian, Chase Farrell won the 100 (10.81). Elijah Gipson won the 200 (23.30) and 300 hurdles (42.58). Aram Sarkissian won the 400 (51.96). Khari Butler won the 110 hurdles (15.66). Santino Aina won the shot put (43-01). Mateo Romero won the high jump (5-04). Jake Reed won the pole vault (14-08).

  • Westlake defeated Calabasas 88-43 in a Marmonte League meet. Ben Hefner won the 1,600 (4:34.03). Sahan Ganewatte won the 100 hurdles (19.92) and 300 hurdles (47.78). Brandon Orlow won the 100 (11.28) and 200 (23.39). Richard Hoffmann won the 800 (2:11.62). Gunner Peterson won the 3,200 (11:00.78). Cade Sommers won the pole vault (12-06). Benjamin Beaven won the long jump (18-11). Jared Unrot won the triple jump (39-04). Adam Laycock won the discus (157-02). For Calabasas, Nicholas Gates won the 400 (51.40), Harrison Henderson won the high jump (5-08), and Kaylon Miller won the shot put (45-02).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

  • Ventura defeated Oxnard 76-51 in a Pacific View League meet. Sadie Engelhardt won the 800 (2:09.36), 1,600 (5:47.86) and 3,200 (11:01.11). Valentina Fakrogha won the 400 (61.52). Ryan Mendez won the 200 (26.67). Isabella Di Silvestri won the long jump (15-01) and triple jump (33-05.50). Isabella Ramos won the high jump (4-08). For Oxnard, Samantha Mckenzie won the 100 hurdles (17.33). Ali Medina won the 100 (12.87). Akira Jones won the 300 hurdles (52.18). Caleb Marzette won the long jump (20-0.75). Angelina Santana won the shot put (33-10.50). Aaliyah Espinoza won the discus (104-04).

  • Oaks Christian defeated Thousand Oaks 76-59 in a Marmonte League meet. Niya Clayton won the 100 (12.59) and 200 (26.47). Morgan Quinn won the 400 (59.30). Gianna Sanchez won the 800 (2:28.83). Payton Godsey won the 1,600 (5:39.74) and 3,200 (12:19.82). Eleanor Borchard won the 300 hurdles (47.77). Tenly Kuhn won the pole vault (12-05). For Thousand Oaks, Lauren Thai won the 100 hurdles (15.75) and long jump (17-06.25). Alexandra Farfaras won the shot put (32-04) and discus (112-03). Madison Thai won the high jump (4-10). Hayden Linville won the triple jump (33-10.50).

  • Westlake defeated Calabasas 78-56 in a Marmonte League meet. Kalista Traversa won the 1,600 (5:30.31). Yessenia Pizano won the 100 hurdles (19.86). Laura Castagna won the 3,200 (13:21.25). Claudia Turner won the pole vault (8-06). Brooke Beck won the triple jump (31-09). Ariella Per won the shot put (34-06.75) and discus (106-07). For Calabasas, Lahela Ray won the 400 (58.76). Zoe Ray won the 100 (12.27) and 800 (2:21.63). Jordyn Holmes won the 200 (27.17). Braelon Holmes won the 300 hurdles (49.37). Amia Witt won the high jump (5-02). Rachel Bir won the long jump (16-08.25).

BOYS GOLF

  • Sophomore Nick Benton claimed medalist honors with a career-low 3-under-par 67 and sophomore Jared Abercrombie made 17 pars en route to a 1-over 71 to lead Oaks Christian (7-1, 4-1) to a 373-400 win over rival Westlake at Los Robles Greens Golf Course. Jackson Turner shot a 1-under 69 for the Warriors.

  • Ryan Mattivi was the medalist with a 73 and Harrison Gahr had 75 as Calabasas finished with a team score of 389 to beat Valencia (406) and Agoura (412) in a three-team match at Calabasas Country Club. Ryan Arnold shot 73 and Dale Capewell had a 78 for the Chargers.

  • Newbury Park defeated Thousand Oaks 387-398 in a Marmonte League match at Sunset Hills Country Club. The Lancers' Gavin McCormick led all scorers with a 2-over 73.

  • Owen Whalen was the medalist with a personal-best 74, Elijah Delsi shot a 75 and Tyler Meister finished with a 77 to lead Camarillo (2-6, 1-3) to a 399-423 win over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League match at par-71 Simi Hills Golf Course. Kyle Sweeting shot a 75 to lead the Highlanders (2-4, 1-4).

  • Anthony Nilson was the medalist with a 72 to lead Simi Valley (5-0) to a 388-389 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League match at Los Robles Greens Golf Course. Parker Schurer led the Eagles (4-3, 3-2) with a 76.

  • Kevin McDonald and Benny Schurmer each fired a 3-under 67 and Reily Brown and Charlie Schurmer each shot a 72 to lead Nordhoff (5-1) to a 354-513 win over Fillmore in a Citrus Coast League match at Buenaventura Golf Course. Jose Calderon shot a 93 for the Flashes.

BOYS TENNIS

  • Klarenz Cenizal and Gustavo Lopez each went 3-0 in singles and Isaac Ruiz and Brandon Navarette swept their doubles sets to lead Channel Islands to a 14-4 win over Pacifica in a Pacific View League match. Anthony Hernandez won two singles sets and Rustico dela Cruz and Cristian Rodriguez won two doubles sets for the Raiders.

  • Westlake edged Newbury Park 10-8 in a Marmonte League match. Quinn Fontayne and George Morris swept in doubles and Ronak Santhosh and Jared Gillespie each won two singles sets for the Panthers.

  • Calabasas defeated Oaks Christian 16-2 in a Marmonte League match.

  • Pascal Hayward and James Sokoloski swept their doubles sets and Shaurya Shyam won two singles sets to lead Foothill Tech to a 10-8 win over Villanova Prep.

  • Royal defeated Camarillo 11-7 in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Simi Valley beat Moorpark 15-3 in a Coastal Canyon League match.

GIRLS BEACH VOLLEYBALL

  • The teams of Annelise Maxwell and Grace Morton, Marley Haener and Kelsey Nisbet, and Olivia Sletten and Sophia Sletten won their matches to lead Ventura to a 3-2 victory over Buena.
