Thursday's Top Prep Performers from six spring sports

Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

SOFTBALL

  • Micaela Kastor allowed four hits and struck out eight in a complete-game effort and was 2 for 3 with a double at the plate, Rylee McCoy finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Justine Lambert went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Anahi Arreola had a hit and an RBI to lead unbeaten Oaks Christian (15-0, 9-0) to a 5-1 win over Westlake in a Marmonte League game. Emily Jones was 2 for 3 with a double, Lily Berlinger had a double and an RBI, and Mariah Elohim went 2 for 3 for the Warriors (13-3, 7-3).

  • Paige Henry pitched a complete game and hit a solo home run, Arden Miller was 1 for 3 with an RBI, Jamie Obringer went 1 for 2 with a double, and Alexa Paradis had an RBI to lead Newbury Park (13-7, 6-4) to a 5-4 win over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game. Amanda Chung had a homer and two RBIs, Devin Davis was 2 for 3 with a homer and Crystal Keeler went 2 for 3 for the Lancers (7-12, 2-8).

  • Makenna Kazmirski had a home run and two RBIs, Abby Lockmann went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Briona Ferdman was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, Sydnie Lowry finished 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Payton Houston and Rylee Redmond each had a hit and an RBI to lead Agoura (10-8, 4-6) to an 11-1 win over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game.

  • Liliana Arana struck out 14 of the 17 batters she faced in a no-hit performance and had two RBIs at the plate, KaiLea Reyes was 2 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs, Madison Gray finished 3 for 5 with three doubles and four RBIs, Mariah Hernandez went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two stolen bases, and Mia Cardenas was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases to lead Santa Paula to a 16-0 victory over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League game. Jocelyn Delgado and Kayla Scott each added a hit an and RBI for the Cardinals (6-5, 3-0).

  • Amber Cervantez allowed just three hits while striking out seven in a complete-game effort and was 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Fillmore (8-3, 3-1) to a 12-1 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League game.

BASEBALL

  • Peter Lynch allowed four hits while striking out seven in five shutout innings, Nate Castellon and Sam Grunberg each had a double and two RBIs, Phoenix Call went 2 for 2 with two walks, Matthew Witkow was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, and Devin Gasway had a hit and an RBI to lead Calabasas (11-3, 4-1) to a 7-0 victory over Oaks Christian in a showdown for first place in the Marmonte League. Finley Buckner went 2 for 3 for the Lions (11-4, 4-1).

  • Myles Kallinger had a walk-off single with the bases loaded, Ethan Kearney was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, and Cooper Bowen allowed four hits and two runs in a complete-game performance to lead Agoura (8-6, 3-2) to a 3-2 win over Thousand Oaks (7-8, 1-4) in a Marmonte League game.

  • Quinn Haggarty was 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Cole Miller went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Evan Needham finished 1 for 1 with four walks and two RBIs, Luke Medhurst was 2 for 4 with a double, and Luca Staiano allowed four runs in six innings to lead Newbury Park to an 11-5 win over Westlake (9-7, 1-4) in a Marmonte League game. Jake Trickle, Max Amador and Drew Turley each added a hit and an RBI for the Panthers (9-5, 2-3).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • Narith Prak finished with 25 assists, Tommy Liston had 12 kills and Donovan Aguilar added five kills to lead Oxnard (8-8, 6-1) to a 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of Channel Islands in a Pacific View League match.

  • Nick Galaviz had 39 assists, Israel Alejos finished with 16 kills, 11 digs and two aces, Andrew Munoz had seven kills, and JF Referente compiled 16 digs to lead Rio Mesa to a 25-20, 26-24, 24-26, 25-14 win over Buena in a Pacific View League match.

  • Tyler Jorden finished with 31 assists, Marcus Valencia had 13 kills and three blocks, Sean Scampone had 11 kills and five digs, and Dominic Robinson had six service points to lead Foothill Tech (7-3, 6-1) to a 25-21, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21 win over Bishop Diego in a Tri-Valley League match.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

  • Oxnard defeated Rio Mesa 81-45 in a Pacific View League meet. Adrian Valdez won the 1,600 (4:23.99). Camren Harris won the 100 (11.19) and 200 (22.92). Sam Adams won the 3,200 (10:20.12). Chris Pirtle won the high jump (5-04). Alfred Adam won the shot put (48-02). For Rio Mesa, Xzavier Lyons won the 110 hurdles (17.04). Benjamin Wade won the 400 (53.98). Erick Tienda won the 800 (2:01.72). JJ Bittner won the 300 hurdles (45.72). Chance Harrison won the long jump (22-03.50). Donovan Erazo won the triple jump (38-0). Jaede Morfin-Washington won the discus (133-07).

  • Oak Park defeated Camarillo 79.5-55.5 in a Coastal Canyon League meet. Jaren Hyde won the 100 (10.90) and 200 (22.59). Brandon Guevara won the 3,200 (10:02.88). Leo Mazzocco won the high jump (5-08). Keith Hoffmayer won the pole vault (9-0). JD Baumann won the long jump (19-01). Marcus Nicolas won the shot put (36-03.50). Khilla Lewis won the discus (115-01). For Camarillo, Carter Weisenberger won the 400 (50.31). Janrebb Puno won the 800 (1:59.56). Silous Ramelli won the 1,600 (4:32.54). Micah Contreras won the 110 hurdles (17.16) and 300 hurdles (43.69). Jelani Kawaichi won the triple jump (37-08).

  • Thousand Oaks defeated Westlake 87-49 in a Marmonte League match. Andrew Simon-Lacombe won the 100 (11.03) and long jump (21-03.25). Atticus Hall won the 800 (1:58.82) and 1,600 (4:19.13). Turner Hayes won the 3,200 (10:04.22). Jeremy Frank won the 110 hurdles (16.22) and 300 hurdles (42.61). Braden Hopkins won the high jump (5-10). Powell Williams won the triple jump (43-04). For Westlake, Taylor Johnson won the 200 (22.20) and 400 (49.97). Adam Laycock won the shot put (48-04) and discus (165-0). Cade Sommers won the pole vault (12-08).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

  • Oxnard defeated Rio Mesa 92-35 in a Pacific View League meet. Samantha McKenzie won the 100 (12.96) and 100 hurdles (16.93). Akira Jones won the 300 hurdles (53.65). Ali Medina won the 200 (27.43) and 400 (61.16). Maleah Wilson won the 3,200 (12:19.04). Aaliyah Gray won the long jump (16-04.50). Ciara Gallagher won the high jump (4-06). Tatyana Hunt won the triple jump (34-07.50). Angelina Santana won the shot put (33-0.50). Aaliyah Espinoza won the discus (104-05). For Rio Mesa, Sophia Godina won the 800 (2:33.04) and 1,600 (5:22.20).

  • Camarillo defeated Oak Park 87-49 in a Coastal Canyon League meet. Maya Thayer won the 400 (60.64). Brittany Widerburg won the 800 (2:28.01). Anneliese Wong won the 100 hurdles (17.56) and 300 hurdles (55.59). Megan Joedicker won the pole vault (9-06). Catherine Carney won the long jump (15-06). Ava Crouse won the shot put (36-06.75) and discus (112-06). For Oak Park, Kymara Brodie won the 100 (12.14) and 200 (25.30). Madison Parrone won the 1,600 (5:12.38) and 3,200 (11:46.29). Jessie Davis won the high jump (4-08). Elisha Tong won the triple jump (30-08.50).

  • Thousand Oaks defeated Westlake 87-49 in a Marmonte League match. Rachel Valencia won the 100 (12.76) and 200 (26.27). Katherine Keleman won the 400 (60.88). Paytonne Evans won the 1,600 (5:18.29). Lauren Thai won the 100 hurdles (15.08), 300 hurdles (47.25) and long jump (19-0). Alexandra Farfaras won the discus (111-0). Madison Thai won the long jump (4-11). Taylor Dominguez won the pole vault (9-02). For Westlake, Finley Doucette won the 800 (2:31.57). Laura Castagna won the 3,200 (11:41.82). Ariella Per won the shot put (36-10). Johanna Cummings won the triple jump (33-05.25).

BOYS GOLF

  • Charlie Schurmer was the medalist with a 34 and Benny Schurmer shot a 36 as Nordhoff finished with a team total of 184 to win the third Citrus Coast League tournament at Saticoy Regional Golf Course. The Rangers are in first place after three rounds of league play. Jacob Marin shot a 40 and James Gutierrez had a 42 for second-place Santa Paula (218). Jacob Aguilera and Isaac Flores each finished with a 45 for third-place Fillmore (262). Reyli Fabian had a 56 and Justin Vargas had a 59 for fourth-place Hueneme (305). Graydon Phelps shot a 38 and Sailor Graham had a 41 for fifth-place Malibu (306).

  • Gavin McCormick and Evan Jiang were co-medalists as each shot a 77 to lead Thousand Oaks (4-3 in league play) to a 405-424 win over Westlake in a Marmonte League match at par-71 Sunset Hills Country Club.

  • Christian Shackleford was the medalist with an even-par 71, Matthew Cerio had a 78 and Conner Shackleford had an 81 for Newbury Park (5-6) in its 385-397 loss to Valencia in a nonleague match at Sand Canyon Country Club.

BOYS TENNIS

  • Ronak Santhosh and Jared Gillespie each swept their singles sets to lead Newbury Park to a 15-3 win over Agoura in a Marmonte League match.

  • Oaks Christian defeated Thousand Oaks 11-7 to improve to 2-4 in the Marmonte League and 2-8 overall.
