Thurston County Sheriff’s Office investigating drowning of 4-year-old
Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the drowning of a 4-year-old boy after his body was discovered Tuesday morning at Beverly Beach.
Around 8:30 a.m. on June 28, a nearby resident reported a child’s body near the 6000 block of Athens Beach Drive NW.
Responding deputies were able to find the child’s home, where his mother was sleeping and unaware that he was not at home.
Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said the child was autistic, with a history of wandering away from home.
Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services are investigating the incident to make sure other children in the home are taken care of.
