ADAM SHAPIRO: Not exactly a household name yet, TIBCO. So you're going to know more about them because their GatherSmart provides an at-- at-cost solution for business schools for all of us trying to find out how we deal with proactive monitoring of COVID-19. But before we get to all of that, we're going to invite into this stream Dan Streetman, he is TIBCO's CEO, to talk about that, but as well as your conference, your virtual conference TIBCO NOW, which is underway. And you say sustainable innovation is the theme. What is sustainable innovation?

DAN STREETMAN: Hey, thanks very much, Adam. We really appreciate the chance to be here. A lot of news this morning, so it's really exciting also to share news about TIBCO NOW. That's right, TIBCO NOW is our global interactive connected experience where we're sharing this theme of sustainable innovation. Clearly in challenging times like this, innovation is no longer a one-shot opportunity where we change and we, right, hold our hand.

Sustainable innovation is continually driving to continue to get better. So we're going to have hundreds of customers sharing their stories of sustainable innovation, and really what we help them do is solve the most complex data challenges. So these stories are all things that are getting made possible by TIBCO. And you mentioned GatherSmart, and that's one great example.

GatherSmart is from our philanthropic part of our organization TIBCO for Good. It is designed to help organizations open and stay open safely during this time of the pandemic. We have a user experience in a digital mobile app as well as a control panel where, with a touch of a button, an organization can say, hey, today it's not safe to come to the office for you or for our group.

All these things are things that are really made possible by TIBCO to help organizations connect to their data, unify or view that data, and most importantly, use data science and machine learning to predict the best, you know, possible solution. So we're really excited to share those news here at TIBCO NOW, particularly around GatherSmart, which was launched today.

JULIA LA ROCHE: Hey, Dan, it's Julia La Roche. Great to see you again. One of the things that really stood out to me about GatherSmart was that you were able to go from concept to prototype in just eight days. And of course, this is in a-- an environment where you all are working remotely. I'm-- I'm curious how you were able to do that and how you're thinking about running TIBCO's business and the innovation that you're seeing in this kind of remote world. And do you think that might be a bit more sticky going forward?

DAN STREETMAN: Yeah, you're a great point, Julia. Thanks very much. So the TIBCO-connected intelligence cloud enabled us to use our existing portfolio of products and solutions all focused around solving complex data challenges to help organizations determine the most important things to reopening and staying open. We announced today, for example, Dartmouth University is using GatherSmart.

So they have a real-time control panel where they can take proactive actions to ensure their students are safe. Dartmouth's on the leading edge. Their CIO Mitch Davis has really put together a great team and a great solution around taking input from their students, understanding what's going on, and taking a proactive stance, and that's really the power of TIBCO'S solutions.

We are better together, and we create a connected experience, just like the theme of our conference, that helps all aspects of the organization, the students, and the community really understand what's going on and make faster smarter decisions.

JULIE HYMAN: Hey, it's Julie Hyman.

DAN STREETMAN: Hey, Julie.

JULIE HYMAN: There are a lot of companies competing in this space right now, right? Not just in collaborative software which is the broader space where you live, but also all of these various COVID solutions. As Adam mentioned at the top, you guys are a privately held company in this space. You're not necessarily a household name. So how are you competing against the big guys that are coming out with some similar products on this?

DAN STREETMAN: So, you know, Julie, we-- we are a privately owned company. Vista Equity Partners is our sponsor, and they've enabled us to continue to sharpen, refine, and improve our solutions so we can serve some of the world's largest companies. We're critical to them, and our solutions are mission essential. T-Mobile in communications, we're going to hear tomorrow at TIBCO NOW from FedEx's Rob Carter, CIO, we call the Beyonce of CIOs.

So we're absolutely at the core of some of the largest companies' critical innovations, and that's also helped us build solutions that help a broader spectrum. So we have no-- no challenges of understanding what we view and where we are, and I think a big aspect of this is clearly what's next in the idea of connected intelligence and the TIBCO-connected intelligence cloud.

ADAM SHAPIRO: All right, Dan Streetman, TIBCO CEO, we wish you all the best.
