Ticket prices are still running hot on morning of Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl LVIII
The last Super Bowl with a printed ticket was the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers four years ago.

Gone are the days of such ticket-stub souvenirs. Instead, the public checks the secondary market for pricing, and in this case finds some of the most expensive tickets in Super Bowl history.
On Sunday morning of Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and 49ers, the cheapest ticket was around $5,700 on StubHub.com. On Overland Park-based Tickets for Less, whose sales include all service fees, the get-in price was about $7,200.
According to Tickets for Less, three days before kickoff, the cheapest tickets were just under double what they were a year ago, when the Chiefs were preparing to meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Ariz. Also, prices were about up about 40% over the previous Chiefs-49ers game.
StubHub reports that the game is tracking to be the second-best-selling in its history, after the New England Patriots-Atlanta Falcons game in February 2017.
Face value for a ticket to this Super Bowl ranges from $950-$3,250. But those largely are made available to players of the participating teams. They’re also distributed to other NFL teams, as well as corporate and broadcasting partners.
Why is this game running so hot? The matchup is attractive, the game is in Las Vegas for the first time and the capacity for the Super Bowl will be on the smaller side, about 65,000.
