Tickets available for 'Tutankhamun' exhibit coming to COSI in March

Visitors to COSI will have the opportunity to take a once-in-a-lifetime journey back in time to see what King Tut's burial chambers looked like and learn more about the archaeology of Egypt in the center's new exhibition for 2023, "Tutankhamun - His Tomb and His Treasures."

Tickets are now on sale for the exhibition, which opens March 18 at COSI, 333 W Broad St., the only site in the U.S. to display this exhibit in the 100 years since the discovery of the young pharaoh's tomb.

"Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures" features more than 1,000 objects - replicas produced under scientific supervision - and is said to be more complete than any previous exhibition of originals.

Often called "the boy king," Tutankhamun ascended to the throne at age 9 but ruled only for about a decade before dying at the age of 18 or 19. Speculations of malaria, a knee infection and other maladies surround his death, which remains a mystery.

General admission to COSI and the Tutankhamun exhibit is $40 for those 13 and older; $35 for youth 2-12; $15 for teachers with ID; $38 for 60 and older and military 13 and older with ID; $33 for military youth ages 2-12 with ID; and free for children younger than 2.
