Sacramento Kings make the playoffs: Are tickets available? How much do they cost?

After 16 painful consecutive losing seasons, the Sacramento Kings clinched a historic playoff spot — and a glimpse of the action in real-time will take a bit of finesse (and cash) from fans.

The Kings have two home games left until the play-in tournament kicks off April 11 and not only are ticket prices high, but they’re selling out fast. The playoffs begin shortly after on April 15 and the first two games of their first-round series will be played in Sacramento at the Golden 1 Center.

Playoff tickets are available — depending on where you look — but the NBA hasn’t solidified game details like dates, times and teams as the regular season continues.

As of Thursday morning, playoff tickets aren’t available on the ticket distribution website Ticketmaster, but contingency tickets are selling on ticket platforms like Gametime, StubHub and SeatGeek.

Remember: Playoff games are dependent upon if a team wins, meaning the game may or may not happen.

If the Kings are eliminated from the playoffs and the game is not played, your money will be refunded, according to StubHub. The same rule applies to other ticket distributors.

Here’s what we found, as of Thursday morning for the remaining regular season games. A quick caveat: Ticket prices change rapidly, and range depending on access and view.

Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster is known to offer some of the highest protection when purchasing tickets.

Reliability will cost you.

Tickets to the Kings versus the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday cost between $58 to $400 for a single ticket, excluding taxes and fees. Tickets to the Kings versus the Golden State Warriors on April 7 range from $200 to $10,000.

Two weeks ago the cheapest tickets to a Kings game at the Golden 1 Center cost $40.

Gametime

Gametime sells “on-time and authentic” last-minute tickets to concerts, sports and theater.

If you find cheaper tickets somewhere else, Gametime credits your account for future purchases, according to its website. Just remember the company prices tickets for however much it likes, meaning prices may be set above or below face value.

Tickets to the Kings versus Spurs game cost between $85 and $902, taxes and fees not included. Seats at the Kings versus Warriors game range from $314 to $12,903.

Playoff tickets range from roughly $250 to $3,400.

A tip: Purchase a ticket as soon as the game starts. Typically the cost is further discounted.

StubHub

Tickets to the final home games in the regular season against the Spurs and the Warriors, as well as playoffs, are selling fast, according to StubHub.

Regular season tickets range from $76 to $10,000, depending on the game. Seats to the Kings versus Warriors game are more expensive.

Seats to a playoff game are selling between roughly $300 and $4,500.

SeatGeek

Tickets to the Kings versus the Spurs cost between $85 and $440. Tickets to the Kings versus the Warriors range from $123 to above $3,000.

Similar to ticket platforms like Gametime and Stub Hub, the closer you buy your tickets to game time, the cheaper they typically cost.

Playoff tickets to a Kings game at the Golden 1 Center range from roughly $322 to more than $2,000.

Sacramento Kings ticket exchange Reddit forum

r/Kings TicketExchange Reddit forum, created in 2016, is regularly used by Kings fans to buy and sell game tickets.

Full disclosure: This is one of the cheapest ways to buy tickets — also the riskiest.

The forum has more than 1,000 members and has a pinned list of “top trusted sellers.”

Golden 1 Center box office

Golden 1 Center’s box office at 500 David J Stern Walk sells Kings tickets at prices similar to Ticketmaster, without the additional fees.

The box office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to showtime during weekend events.

The catch: Tickets must be purchased in person at the box office.

The box office can be reached at 916-701-5401 during business hours.
