Tickets go on sale for Westchester's annual Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru light show

Halloween plans and decorations aren't fully set up and Thanksgiving is still a couple months away, but Westchester is already prepping for the big man in red with a bag to make an appearance.

Tickets for Westchester County's annual Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza go on sale Friday, Sept. 29 ahead of the holiday season.

What's new this year?

The drive-thru light show, designed by Peekskill's Eclectic Precision and Dark Tech Effects, is one of the most popular Westchester holiday events. This year, there are some new features included in the 1.2 miles of twinkling holiday light scenes. Guests will drive to and from the North Pole through Rudolph's Runway and into the 175 ft. Transporter Tunnel. And kids can interact with Snowball the Elf, who will greet them from the Ice House.

“Westchester’s Winter Wonderland has been a holiday tradition in Westchester for the last ten years," said Westchester Park Foundation chair Seth Mandelbaum. "As the only drive-thru holiday event in Westchester, we have the advantage of being accessible, affordable, and convenient to all without having to worry about obstacles including the weather! It is a magical event that enhances the excitement of the holidays without all the hassles of going into the city.”

How and where to buy tickets

The event opens on Nov. 24 at 5:30 p.m. and will run until Dec. 31. This year, based on popular demand, the Westchester Parks Foundation added extra earlier time slots for Monday through Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and weekends at 4 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday Sept. 29 and are $35 per vehicle. All ticket proceeds will go to the Westchester Parks Foundation. Reservations are required to attend the event.
