Tickets for sold-out Southern Miss baseball super regional opener vs Ole Miss topping $1,000

HATTIESBURG — Those hoping to secure a seat at Southern Miss baseball's super regional opener against Ole Miss will feel the sting in their wallet.

After Southern Miss announced a sellout on Friday morning, the cheapest seats available on the secondhand ticket website StubHub will cost you at least $670 as of Friday evening.

Beyond that, fans can expect to pay four figures for tickets, with listings at $1,000, $1,150 and $1,200.

Standing room only options are much more affordable. Those tickets start at $185.

The Golden Eagles have already welcomed their in-state rivals to Pete Taylor Park once this season and set a new attendance record when 6,346 fans packed into the stadium with a listed capacity of 4,300.

With a trip to Omaha on the line in this super regional between Southern Miss and the Rebels, there's no drop in demand.

"College baseball's always been big in the state of Mississippi, but I think it just got a lot bigger, in all honesty," USM head coach Scott Berry said Thursday.

Taking a look ahead toward the rest of the weekend, tickets on Sunday start at $300, while prices for Monday's third game begin at $375 should it be necessary to decide a winner.
