Golf superstar Tiger Woods will soon break ground in Tampa Bay, expanding his chain of golf entertainment centers called PopStroke that include high-concept putting courses, dining and playgrounds.

PopStroke Entertainment, co-owned by Woods and Wall Street veteran Greg Bartoli, will break ground on Feb. 2 near Cypress Creek Town Center in Lutz. It is expected to open this fall, possibly in late October.

Bartoli; Bryon Bell, president of TGR Design; Pasco County Commissioner Mike Moore and Mark Stevens, president of Stevens Construction, will be at the groundbreaking at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2, the company said. It will be at 25297 Sierra Center Blvd. in Lutz.

The company is adding new Florida locations in Orlando, Sarasota and Delray Beach. The Sarasota location will open March 1.

Think you can putt better than Tiger?

Unlike the windmills and alligator jaws of old-fashioned putt-putt courses, each location has two 18-hole mini golf courses designed by Woods and his TGR Design team. There are Augusta-like holes created in miniature that incorporate fairways, bunkers and rough as seen on traditional golf courses.

The Tiger Course is designed to challenge experienced putters, with tricky hole locations. The Cub Course’s softened contours are aimed for kids, families and anyone new to golf.

In a news release, Woods said each location course design will be unique.

“Putting is a universal part of golf that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels,” Woods said in the announcement.

It will also feature an outdoor dining area, a variety of craft beers, wine, cocktails, ice cream, outdoor games and a playground.
