Tiger Woods’ son Charlie stuns in PNC Championship

Charlie Woods landed an eagle shot on his third hole.

Golf legend Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son, Charlie Woods, participated in the PNC Championship on Saturday at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.

The championship consisted of professional golfers teaming up with their children according to the Golf Channel.

“I really don’t care about my game. I’m just making sure that Charlie has the time of his life and he’s doing that. I’m making sure he is able to enjoy all of this,” said Woods.

In a clip shared by the PGA Tour on Twitter, Woods can be heard saying, “awesome shot” as Charlie landed an eagle shot on his third hole.

The father-son duo is currently in a six-way tie for sixth place with one more round to play, and are currently trailing Matt Kuchar and his son, Cameron Kuchar, by four, according to The Bleacher Report.

In response to a video tweeted by the PGA Tour of commentators’ critiques, professional golfer Lee Westbrook tweeted that he saw the scrutiny that Woods faced in his career and to “give Charlie a break and just let him be a kid and enjoy his golf and childhood.”

When asked by a reporter if the round was “nerve-racking” with him playing and ensuring that his son made good shots, Woods said it was all about having fun and called the moment “priceless.”

“Just making sure that we had fun and we did,” Woods said.

Also when asked if his son had moments that surprised him, Woods said he has seen these skills in his son all along.

“All of the shots he has hit I’ve seen it back home…this entire year, this entire pandemic he has hit these shots.”

Charlie’s performance was so impressive that he received praise from Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James who tweeted, “Love to see it.”

We look forward to organising the Senate under Democratic control and start getting big, bold things done for the American people." Some liberal Democrats have suggested killing the filibuster to help advance President Joe Biden's agenda, though Mr Biden has not signaled support for such a move. In recent years, the 60-vote threshold has brought the Senate nearly to a halt on major legislation. With Ms Harris unable to attend every Senate session, the two party leaders have been discussing an arrangement to govern day-to-day operations, similar to one struck the last time the Senate was equally split two decades ago. Senate committees have still not been reorganised under Democratic control. Democrats could unilaterally change the rules to require only a simple majority to approve bills, a move sometimes called the "nuclear option", if all 50 members voted together and Ms Harris provided the tie-breaking vote. By declining to guarantee as part of the deal that the filibuster will be protected, Mr Schumer preserves the threat as leverage in negotiations over Mr Biden's priorities, such as a new round of coronavirus relief.

While Biden said in July that he would “take a look” at eliminating the rule dependent upon “how ostreperous they become,” speaking about Senate Republicans, he also added then that he had “not supported the elimination of the filibuster because it’s been used as often … the other way around [for Republicans’ benefit], but I think you have to just take a look at it.” Biden “has not changed his mind” and continues to oppose eliminating the filibuster, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday. However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said for years that “nothing’s off the table” once Democrats have the majority in the Senate and has previously said that Democrats would “do what it takes” to pass policy. “Job number one is for us to get the majority. We don’t take anything for granted but it’s looking better and better,” he said over the summer. “Once we get the majority, we’ll discuss it in our caucus. Nothing’s off the table.” Ahead of the election, a growing group of Democrats signaled they were open to the idea of ending the filibuster, including 18 of the original 26 democratic presidential candidates: Senator Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), Pete Buttigieg and Andrew Yang who expressed full support, and Senators Cory Booker (D., N.J.), Kamala Harris (D., Calif.), Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.), Bernie Sanders (D., Vt.) and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D., Texas) who said they would be open to the idea. However, with Manchin and Sinema’s opposition, it is unlikely Democrats will receive enough support to abolish the filibuster. Meanwhile, Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell have warned that eliminating the filibuster would cause long-lasting damage to the Senate. “This threat to permanently disfigure, to disfigure the Senate, has been the latest growing drumbeat in the modern Democratic Party’s war against our governing institutions,” McConnell said in September, according to The Hill.
