Tiger Woods undergoes surgery after suffering ‘multiple leg injuries’ in car crash

Tiger Woods has undergone surgery after suffering “multiple leg injuries” in a car crash, his agent Mark Steinberg has confirmed.

Woods was pulled from the wreck of the car crash during the early hours of this morning in Los Angeles.

He was in the area for a two-day content shoot with Golf Digest and GOLFTV after finishing his hosting duties at last weekend’s PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational, which was won by Max Homa.

The car sustained “major damage” according to a statement from LA County Sheriffs, with Woods’ agent revealing that former world No 1’s condition.

A statement read: “Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

The incident took place at 7:12AM with his vehicle rolling over on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

An LA County Sheriff statement: “The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer, Eldrick Tiger Woods. Mr Woods was extricated from the wreck with the “jaws of life” by Los Angelese County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries.”

Woods admitted at the weekend that he was feeling fine following surgery: “I’m feeling fine, little bit stiff,” Woods said.

“Have one more MRI scheduled to see if the annulus has scarred over finally, and then I can start doing more activities. Still in the gym, still doing the mundane stuff that you have to do for rehab, the little things before you can start gravitating towards something a little more.”
