TikTok Star Zoe LaVerne Gets Engaged to Dawson Day and Shares the Gender of Her Baby
Controversial influencer Zoe LaVerne will soon become Zoe Day.
On Sunday (May 2), Zoe's boyfriend of nearly six months, Dawson Day, proposed to her during their gender reveal party. Zoe was completely caught off guard, later telling her fans she didn't know he was going to do that; it was a total surprise.
What was also a surprise for fans was learning Zoe and Dawson were going to have a girl — and that her name will be Emersyn. According to Scary Mommy, this name means "brave, powerful," which seems fitting.
Understandably, both Zoe and Dawson blasted their social media accounts with pics and videos of the special day. On TikTok, Zoe posted the proposal video, set to the tune of Bruno Mars's "Marry You."
On Instagram, both Zoe and Dawson get super mushy with their captions. Zoe called this the "best day of [her] life" and that she was "so happy to be Zoe Day."
Dawson wrote on his own post, "I love you so much ❤️ I cannot wait to hold our beautiful baby girl... Emersyn! 💕💕 and I’m so blessed to be your fiancé, Zoe. I love you so much and wouldn’t wanna spend the rest of my life or build a family [with] anyone else. I love you, baby 🥺❤️💍."
You'd think this sappy moment would be the end of the story, right? As the Grinch would say, "Wrong-O!" These are TikTokers, and that means there's always going to be drama involved.
For starters, Zoe posted this super shady TikTok, reminding any and all exes of Dawson's that he was HERS. She even flipped off the camera to keep things extra classy.
Then, she went on a two-part mini-rant about how she and Dawson are doing the right thing by getting married after a short time of dating, so their daughter will "have both of her parents, and get raised with both of her parents as well." (Of course, Emersyn can still have all of that with parents who aren't married, but I digress.)
Zoe later said she has known Dawson for nearly three years and that she felt Dawson "made a really big step in [proposing to her]."
Even her ex-boyfriend's girlfriend, Tess Krauser, gave her congrats to Zoe. Tess is dating Cody Orlove, who Zoe dated on and off for two years.
So, while many people seem to think Zoe and Dawson are rushing their engagement, the happy couple couldn't care less about their haters.
