Tim Tebow accidentally kicks his first base coach in the groin
Like many baseball experts predicted, New York Mets prospect Tim Tebow hasn’t been doing very well in Triple-A this year.
The former football player was slashing .156/.224/.222 through 14 games for the Syracuse Chiefs entering Tuesday, with 18 strikeouts in 45 at-bats. The 31-year-old’s .447 OPS ranks third-worst in the International League. He’s looked rough enough that Jose Canseco is publicly offering to help.
And yet, the lowlight of Tebow’s season surprisingly came after he managed to reach the basepaths.

In the third inning of the Chiefs’ game against the Buffalo Bisons, Tebow drew a walk against Buffalo starter Jordan Romano. Once at the base, Tebow began stretching his legs. Unfortunately, he didn’t seem aware that Syracuse bench coach Benny Distefano was standing right behind him while manning first base.

Unfortunately for the pair, it sounded like all eyes were on Tebow at that moment and plenty of fans could be heard reacting.
Tebow immediately apologized to Distefano, then scored two batters later on a Danny Espinosa homer for his fourth run of the season.
