Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards reveals he can’t live without … Chester’s Hot Fries?

GQ Sports published a feature Monday featuring Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards and the 10 things he cannot live without.

Included on his list were a couple sentimental things, such as his English bulldog, Ant Jr, who Edwards lovingly refers to as his “son,” and a photo of his late mother, Yvette, who died of cancer in 2015. He and his girlfriend both keep the photo of his mother on their phones.

Edwards has said on many occasions that she is the reason why he is always smiling. In the interview, he fondly recalled little league football games in which she would run down the sidelines alongside Edwards while he ran for the end zone.

“Number one fan,” Edwards said. “For sure.”

Then there were fashion items such as his now well-known AE5 chain, which he wears to some games and his Yeezy Slides: “Although I’m into high fashion, I always wanna be comfortable.” He also included a pair of Atlanta Braves fitted hats.

His bowling ball displayed his love for the sport he picked up last year. His deck of cards symbolized his newfound interest in Spades. His speaker was for his love of music. His pregame pump-up jams are courtesy of none other than Nikki Minaj — “She the best in the world, yeah. Just shuffle it. I don’t even have a favorite song. I just love her music.”

And then here was a bag of Chester’s Hot Fries, a well-known Cheetos product. It wouldn’t be Anthony Edwards if junk food wasn’t brought into the discussion. Edwards was a notorious fast food junkie before, the guard said, he started to cut down on those products in the offseason. But he certainly still has some crunchy vices.

“The best chips that are ever made. I’ve been eating ’em since I was probably like, 5 years old,” Edwards said. “I prefer these over any chips in the world. Probably eat like three a day. You do the math. What is that, 21 bags?”

That is indeed 21 bags in a week.

“Yeah, I eat that many. Probably more though, for real,” he added with a laugh, “depending on how long my day is.”
