TIME 100 Gala: Chip and Joanna Gaines make rare red carpet appearance

Chip and Joanna Gaines made a rare red carpet appearance on Tuesday night at the 2019 TIME 100 Gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, where they were among the many honorees to attend the star-studded event.

The former "Fixer Upper" duo was all smiles as the posed together on the first red carpet at the event, with Chip making his wife laugh with several silly poses. At one point, he also gave Joanna a kiss on the cheek.

Joanna was stunning in a strapless blue gown that she wore with a salmon suede clutch and her hair swept to one side. Chip looked dapper in a classic three-piece black suit with a matching tie.

The couple, who shares five children, didn't talk to any reporters on the red carpet, instead opting to mingle at the pre-gala cocktail party upstairs.

For the annual TIME 100 issue, which came out earlier this month, Tim Tebow wrote the couple a glowing tribute that highlighted their faith.

"On 'Fixer Upper,' when I helped Jo and Chip build an accessible home for a family with two children in wheelchairs, I saw firsthand the genuine passion they have for making a difference in people’s lives," Tebow said, calling them "incredible people with incredible hearts" who are "grounded in a strong faith, which keeps them focused on what truly matters in life."
