The time Alabama football LB Will Anderson Jr. accidentally hit QB Bryce Young in practice
When the quarterback is wearing a black jersey in practice, the message is clear: Don't hit him.
For the most part, defensive players oblige. But sometimes, when practice is going full speed, that's not always possible. Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. experienced that once.
Just once.
He was asked Tuesday if he had ever hit Alabama quarterback Bryce Young accidentally in practice.

"One time," Anderson said, "and I've never done it again."
The hit came during a two-minute drill at practice one day.
As he rushed after Young, Anderson put his hands up as the quarterback threw the ball. Anderson's hands came down on Young's arm and hand.
Immediately, many at the practice were asking if Young was OK, Anderson recalled.
Meanwhile, Anderson received a cussing out on the sideline from his coach.

"It's kind of hard," Anderson said, "when you're rushing the passer and you're going full speed and trying to stop. It's like your natural instinct to put your hands up."
Young was fine, but Anderson learned his lesson.
"We good, though," Anderson said. "But that's the only time."
