More than 50,000 fans are expected to attend Beyoncé’s sold-out concert Sunday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City for the last stop of her Renaissance Tour.

For those planning to go to the show, questions about parking might be coming to mind. When does the parking lot open?

Are you allowed to tailgate in the parking lot if you don’t have tickets? What about public transportation?

Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about how to get to the shows and navigate the lot.

When does the parking lot open?

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that the parking lot opens at 5:30 p.m., two and a half hours before the show starts at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Concertgoers should be aware that the Kansas City Royals host the New York Yankees for the final game of the MLB regular season at 2:10 p.m. and aren’t changing the starting time.

The Royals moved up their Sept. 18 game against the Cleveland Guardians to 1:10 p.m. to accommodate Beyoncé’s concert before that date was postponed to Sunday.

Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a Kansas City Police Department spokesperson, told The Star that police have been in touch with both the Chiefs and the Royals regarding the upcoming events.

Gonzalez said a plan is being finalized to assist with traffic at the complex.

When does Arrowhead Stadium open for the concerts?

The stadium gates open at 6:30 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 7 p.m. for everybody else. Beyoncé is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m.

The singer does have a history of starting shows behind schedule on this tour, so fans may not have to panic if they’re running late.

Who is allowed in the parking lot?

Fans with tickets for Beyoncé’s concert are allowed in the parking lot.

Tailgating is allowed before the show begins and the Chiefs note on Beyonce’s information page that tailgating is for ticketed guests only and the club reserves the right to confirm that guests have tickets before allowing them into the parking lots.

A rule change was made in 2018 after a fan was killed in the Chiefs parking lot during a game in 2013.

If you’re driving, you need a parking pass

Along with your ticket to the concert, you will need a parking pass to get inside the stadium. Those are $47 before fees, $3 less than the price for parking passes for Chiefs games.

If you’re going with a swarm of the Beyhive and have a bus or RV rented out, passes for each night cost $120 before fees, and you enter through Gates 1 at Blue Ridge Cutoff or Gate 7 at Stadium Drive. Buses will park on the north side of Dubiner Circle.

Lot E and M are reserved for platinum parking pass holders, and fans can buy these passes for $200 before fees. Lot E is in front of the Kingdom Club entrance and Lot M is in front of the Founders Club entrance.

The Chiefs website says: “Please note tailgating is for ticketed guests only and the club reserves the right to confirm that guests have tickets prior to allowing them into the parking lots.” If you’re asked to show a ticket and don’t have one, they will ask you to leave the parking lot.

Where should I park at Arrowhead Stadium?

All parking is first-come, first-served. If the accessible parking spots are full, those with designated license plates or hangtags will be directed to a parking spot nearest to the stadium.

If you need help getting to the stadium before the show and to the parking lot after the show ends, courtesy carts are available to be picked up at one of the many Fans First Tents located around the stadium grounds.

What if I’m getting dropped off at Arrowhead?

Arrowhead Stadium has designated drop-off and pick-up spots for Uber, Lyft, Z-Trip or friends dropping off their friends.

Vehicles must go through Gate 2 for pickup and drop-off in Lot J, according to the Chiefs. These spots are at the Missouri Welcome Center located between Gates J and 2 on Blue Ridge Cutoff.

What about public transportation in Kansas City?

Bus service is available through Kansas City Area Transportation Authority via the 47-Broadway line, operating on the Sunday schedule.

Riders can get on at these stops on this bus route, which will take you to the stop at 38th Terrace and Blue Ridge Cutoff on Sunday.
