The time Miss Terry went on a job interview for Nick Saban at LSU

With LSU heading to Tuscaloosa this weekend to face No. 3 Alabama, plenty of stories about the Tigers and Crimson Tide have been told leading into the game.

Add in the fact that Nick Saban used to coach at LSU, and there are even more tales.

One such story came up during Saban's weekly radio show Thursday when he mentioned the time the Tigers were courting him for the job while he was still coaching Michigan State in the late 1990s.

"When they were interested, I had so much pressure on me, I couldn't really go for an interview," Saban said. "So Miss Terry went."

Saban hadn't been there, so Terry Saban's scouting report would be the best intel he had.

"She said, 'They don't have very good facilities," Saban recalled. "'They don't have an academic center. There's a lot of things they don't have that I think they need.' But she said, 'I went in the weight room and they've got a lot of damn good looking players.'"

The crowd at Baumhower's Victory Grille burst into laughter, as did ESPN's Holly Rowe, Thursday's media guest, and Alabama radio voice Eli Gold.

"Leave it to Miss Terry to get you a national championship at LSU," Rowe replied. "I'm not surprised by that."

No. 3 Alabama (7-1, 4-1 SEC) is set to face LSU (4-4, 2-3) at 6 p.m. on ESPN.
