The team has sold out every single year since their debut in 2000, but officials told News Center 7 that ticket sales are down this year, despite the new bars, hotels, and construction bringing people to the Water Street District, Deutsch said ticket sales are down.

“We’re still suffering from a little bit of a Covid malaise,” Eric Deutsch, Executive Vice President for the Dragons, said, noting the additional impacts of inflation and fears of a potential recession.

“We need some companies to step up and buy for seats for 16 games for about $925 to see if we can keep the streak together,” Deutsch said.

Dragons broadcaster, Tom Nichols says, “we really had to work hard this off-season to try and keep it going. We go into the season with the sell-out streak still alive and we’re hopeful to continue to build that.”

As of Monday afternoon, the Dragons had 200 tickets available for tonight’s game.

The team holds the all-time sports record in North America for the most consecutive sold-out games.

This is something the team says new players look forwards too as well, like Blake Dunn.

Dunn said, “ I didn’t even know coming into this the sellout streak as well. I’m expecting a lot of fans and I’m expecting it to be a really cool environment, a really loud environment and hopefully, we can get an opening day win.”
