What time do the polls close in Pennsylvania?

(WHTM) – Pennsylvanians are heading out to the polls on Tuesday, April 23, to vote in the primary election.

Polls in Pennsylvania open at 7 a.m. and are open until 8 p.m. If you are in line after 8 p.m. you will still be allowed to vote.

You can find your polling place on the Department of State website.

If you received a mail ballot, it must be returned to your county’s board of elections by 8 p.m. Postmarks are not enough and, at this point, the Department of State is asking voters not to put their ballots in the mail because they will likely arrive after the deadline.

You can track your ballot online with the PA Voter Services website by filling in your full name, date of birth, and the county you’re registered to vote in to see a timeline for your ballot.

Voter registration for the primary is closed and, unless you have an emergency, you can no longer request an absentee or mail-in ballot.

In the primary election, residents will have a chance to vote for their party’s candidates for U.S. Senate, Attorney General, Treasurer, Auditor General, Congressmember, and local State House and Senate elections.

Both U.S. Senate elections are uncontested this year, as are the Republican Treasurer and Auditor General races.

The last day to register to vote for the November 5 general election is October 21.
