Timelapse of auroras as seen from outer space will be the most beautiful thing you’ll see today

The Aurora Borealis is a sight to behold on Earth but is equally if not more stunning from outer space as shown by a video released by NASA Television.

The five-minute clip shot in ultra-high-definition is a compilation of awe-inspiring time-lapse shots, giving us earthlings a new perspective of what the dancing light show looks like from the International Space Station.

Both the Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis (southern lights) are seen in the video lighting up the skies in swathes of green, blue, purple and red.

“The phenomena occurs when electrically charged electrons and protons in the Earth’s magnetic field collide with neutral atoms in the upper atmosphere,” states the video.
