Timeline: How Dr. Roxy's career imploded after she became a TikTok star
Dr. Katharine Roxanne Grawe spent years training to become a plastic surgeon and more than a decade practicing before her medical license was revoked in July by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
Grawe, who went by Dr. Roxy, gained notoriety from broadcasting her plastic surgeries right from the operating room on social media apps such as TikTok.
Grawe's upbringing, education and time as a surgeon spanned multiple states.

1978
Katharine Roxanne Grawe is born in December in San Diego, California.
2000
Grawe graduates from Southern Methodist University in Texas with a bachelor's degree in biology and psychology.
2005
Grawe earns her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
2010
Grawe completes her medical residency at Ohio State University in Columbus. She ends up staying in central Ohio.
Grawe becomes the medical director of breast services at Mount Carmel Health, according to her LinkedIn profile.
2012
Grawe opens her own practice, Roxy Plastic Surgery, in Powell, Ohio, about 20 miles north of Columbus in Delaware County.
2014
Grawe began recording footage of surgeries in the operating room, according to medical board records.
Mary Jenkins, who underwent a breast reconstruction by Grawe, files a malpractice lawsuit in Franklin County Court of Common Pleas against the plastic surgeon in April.
2016
A jury awards Mary Jenkins $358,000 in damages for her lawsuit against Grawe. The doctor appeals and another jury eventually sides with Jenkins in the appeal in 2019.
2018
The State Medical Board of Ohio in October sends Grawe a caution letter, warning her that it has concerns about patient privacy due to her use of social media, according to medical board records.
2021
The medical board sends Grawe another letter in September, again warning her about her use of social media but also for what the board called “avoidable complications that required surgical revision.”
2022
The medical board on Nov. 18 suspends Grawe's license to practice medicine in Ohio, noting that her continued practice "presents a danger of immediate and serious harm to the public," a letter to the doctor states.
2023
The medical board holds hearings, starting May 15, on the accusations against Grawe. The medical board used the outcomes of three patients to make its case against the plastic surgeon.
Grawe changes her job description on LinkedIn to "strategic advisor" and "self-employed" in January.
The medical board permanently revokes Grawe's license to practice medicine in Ohio on July 12.
