The television personalities began working together in 2014, and in 2020 came together as co-hosts on Good Morning America 3: What You Need to Know. Following the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, the pair's on-air chemistry and offline outings began to spark suspicions of a romance despite their separate marriages—and by November 2022, their affair was confirmed by Daily Mail in a bombshell report that spurred a national scandal and an avalanche of subsequent discoveries tied to Holmes's other workplace relationships.
But this month, Holmes and Robach made their love public and separated from their respective spouses, attorney Marilee Fiebig and actor Andrew Shue. They have also been pulled from their positions on the network. As of January 2023, reps at ABC News announced their final decision to cut ties with the former anchors altogether.

January 27, 2023: They are officially let go from ABC.
Following an "extremely contentious" mediation called on by the pair's lawyers, ABC confirms to TMZ that they have officially made the decision to cut ties with Holmes and Robach in light of certain discoveries.
The announcement comes days after Daily Mail reported Holmes had engaged in another affair—this one with a 24-year-old script coordinator, 13 years his junior—back in 2015.
December 28, 2022: Holmes files for divorce.
Holmes officially begins divorce proceedings with Fiebig, his spouse of 12 years whom he'd been separated from since August.
Days later, Holmes is spotted arm-in-arm with Robach at the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where the two have reportedly arrived for an intimate couple's trip ahead of New Year's Eve.
Fiebig was "blindsided" by Holmes's relationship with Robach, according to a Page Six source.
December 5, 2022: They are pulled from GMA3.
Holmes and Robach are pulled off the show for the time being as their longterm status with ABC is still decided upon amid their affair's national buzz. Per ABC News President Kimberly Godwin, the pair's relationship has become "an external distraction" from their professional roles, though it is technically "not a violation of company policy."
Later the same day, Page Six uncovers a third affair tied to Holmes—one with another staffer at ABC—and in light of these discoveries, a source tells the outlet that Holmes and Robach's future anchoring with the news station is likely contingent upon "what else comes out."
December 2, 2022: Holmes is outed for another workplace affair.
After an extensive investigation, Page Six publishes a report evidencing another workplace affair tied to Holmes—a three-year relationship between the anchor and former GMA producer Natasha Singh—beginning in 2016, while Holmes was still married to Fiebig.
"Amy was the person they went to talk to about their affair and marriages," an insider also tells the outlet. (Though, another source chimes in to specify that Robach allegedly learned of the affair only during its final stages.)
December 1, 2022: Robach files for divorce.
Following the scandal's eruption, Page Six confirms that Robach has begun divorce proceedings with her husband of 12 years. "Amy and Andrew are divorcing, it’s almost finalized," a friend of Robach's tells the outlet. "He moved out earlier this summer."
The insider adds that a split between them was a long time coming. "They’ve constantly had problems over the years and they finally broke up," the source says.
November 30, 2022: The scandal officially breaks.
The pair's long-rumored affair is officially confirmed by Daily Mail with ample resounding evidence. Per the 65 photos leaked by the outlet, the two are captured spending cozy alone time together at each other's apartments—as well as at a cottage in Upstate New York during the holidays—and flirting closely at a bar in New York City after a filming session, among other suggestive activities.
In what would ultimately be their final GMA3 episodes together on December 1 and 2, the pair make their first televised appearances as an outed couple, and reference the scandal with humor and lightness. "It’s too bad it’s Friday. It’s been a great week. I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoying it. … Take it all in," Holmes jokes during his final episode. "Speak for yourself," Robach quips back while laughing.
November 6, 2022: They run a full marathon.
Just weeks before the scandal erupts, the two take on the TCS New York City Marathon together.
Robach later writes on an Instagram post from the event: "NO WAY I could have ever accomplished this alone! I love this running crew so much. We encourage each other, train together and finish together."
August 19, 2022: Robach celebrates Holmes's birthday.
Robach makes a special occasion out of her colleague's birthday with multiple pies. "Since you don't like cake," she says. "We’re all lucky to be here and we’re excited about another year."
That same month, the two reportedly also separate from their spouses and begin planning new living arrangements. Per People, this marks an official beginning to their committed relationship. "They felt very comfortable dating in the open after that," a source tells the outlet.
May 30–June 5, 2022: They take their work overseas.
Holmes and Robach fly out to London for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Platinum Jubilee, where the two host coverage on the Special Olympics. Following the trip, a source tells the Daily Mail that "staff were buzzing about the intimacy between them."
In an Instagram post from the event, Robach deems the trip with Holmes "one of the best assignments ever," adding, "Couldn't have asked for a better partner through it all."
March 17, 2022: They get flirty on TikTok.
Holmes and Robach showcase their chemistry in a video on Good Morning America 3's TikTok, where they attempt to offer advice on half-marathon training whilst exchanging flirty glances and remarks.
"Here's my half-marathon tip: Ask her for tips," Holmes cheekily says while pointing to Robach. "I've never run a half-marathon before."
"We're never gonna get through this," Robach later says after multiple takes.
Eventually gaining focus, Robach suggests for new trainees to start slow, adding that it can be fun to also train with "friends" because "you're social, but working hard." Beaming at Robach calling him a friend, Holmes says, "Aw, she pointed at me when she said 'friends.' That's so cute."
On March 20, the two run the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon alongside Robach's husband, Shue. The pair's affair is believed to have officially begun around this point.
Circa 2021: They embark on marathon training.
The two take their friendship out of the workplace when they commit to half-marathon training together.
"I pretty much announced to everyone that TJ was going to run the half-marathon with me, and then publicly pressured him to join," Robach, an experienced long-distance runner, later recalled to Page Six, adding, "and it worked!"
And upon being asked why he decided to sign up, Holmes also told the outlet, "Great question. I’m still trying to figure out why I’m running in this race."
September 18, 2020: They debut as GMA3 co-anchors.
Holmes officially joins Robach as co-anchor of ABC's rebranded talk show, Good Morning America: What You Need to Know.
"We really have an appreciation for where we are with this show," Holmes later said of working with Robach in a conversation with Resident Magazine. "We could have plotted and planned for a possible show, but this one just happened, and it happened organically."
Robach was previously co-anchor of the show's second hour, Pandemic: What You Need to Know alongside ABC’s chief medical correspondent, Dr. Jennifer Ashton.
Circa 2014: Holmes and Robach connect at ABC.
Holmes joins Robach on the ABC team as a freelancer in September before joining her as a fellow anchor in December.
Robach and Holmes become fast friends and even go on several double dates with their respective spouses, Shue and Fiebig. "The moment he started at ABC, I think we just clicked," Robach previously told People. "We've gone on tons of double dates with our spouses, and my daughters babysit his daughters."
