From Town & Country

After working with Netflix on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, producing team Tina Fey and Robert Carlock are once again creating television for the peacock—and this time, Ted Danson is coming along for the ride.

"We are thrilled to be back home at NBC and writing for one of the network's greatest stars of all time, Mary Steenburgen's husband, Ted," Fey and Carlock said in a statement.

Here's what we know about the series.

Danson will play the mayor of Los Angeles.

The show's official description paints Danson's character as a less-than-ideal fit for the position. "The series is about a wealthy businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles for all the wrong reasons," it reads. "Once he wins he has to figure out what he stands for, gain the respect of his staff, and connect with his teenage daughter, all while controlling the coyote population." (Yes, coyotes are a real problem in Southern California.)

It's been given a 13-episode order.

"We are so excited that this is the first NBC show we get to greenlight straight-to-series," said NBC co-chairmen George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy, per Variety. "It’s with talent that we know and love and who have worked on some of the most beloved shows in our network’s history. We can’t wait."

They're right about those beloved shows. Fey and Carlock are responsible for the inimitable 30 Rock; for his part, Danson currently stars on NBC's hit afterlife comedy The Good Place.

There's no premiere date as of yet.

The show has reportedly been in the works for a year, but there's still no set date for its debut. A title has also yet to be announced.
