Tinton Falls crash shuts down Asbury Avenue and Shafto Road
Editor's note: Police have provided an update, saying two people were killed in this crash. Their investigation is ongoing.
TINTON FALLS - A serious motor vehicle crash occurred Thursday evening at the intersection of Asbury Avenue and Shafto Road, according to borough police.
The Tinton Falls Police Department was asking motorists to avoid the area. Shafto Road was closed at Wardell Road going northbound and Shafto Road was closed going south at West Park Avenue, police said.
Asbury Avenue westbound was closed at Heritage Boulevard, police said.
The accident took place at around the 7 p.m. hour Thursday.
