Tiny home for sale in Minnesota doesn’t have a tiny price. ‘Sink is also your toilet’

In an unsure economy where house prices fluctuate faster than the Texas weather, people are looking to go smaller and cheaper for a roof over their heads, which is why tiny homes are all the rage.

But while one house for sale in Duluth has smaller down, the cheap part is — well, not so cheap.

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom house is 205 square feet and is listed for $195,000. That’s $951 per square foot. According to Zillow.com, the average house price in Duluth is around $257,400. In comparison, a 1,339-square-foot house currently on the market in Duluth is $199,900 —$192 per square foot.

That’s a little bit of a difference.

So does that mean this tiny house is made of diamonds from one of Jupiter’s 95 moons?

One wishes.

“Boasting convenience, sustainability, and modern appeal, this property is an ideal choice for both investors and eco-conscious adventurers,” the listing on Realtor.com describes. “The tiny home is thoughtfully designed to maximize space and minimize environmental impact. With off-street parking, you’ll enjoy the convenience of having your own dedicated space.”

The listing also describes the residence as “an excellent opportunity for passive income generation” and that one can “embrace sustainable living and leave a smaller carbon footprint with this eco-friendly home.”

Normally, a tiny home is about $300 per square foot, making it $30,000 - $60,000 per house, Rocket Mortgage says.

The popular TikTok page @zillowtastrophes featured the home and folks — including the creator of the page — were flabbergasted.

“I heard $200k is like buying a sandwich to a billionaire,” the creator wrote in the video’s caption.

“You lost me at ‘your sink is also your toilet,’ ” one fan wrote in the comment section.

“It would be cute but not for that price and not in that neighborhood,” another said.

“Plenty of parking though,” someone said optimistically.

“Just buy a shed from Home Depot in live in it cheaper,” one person noted.
