Tippecanoe County to receive additional Moderna bivalent COVID-19 booster doses

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — After reporting two weeks ago no doses of the Moderna bivalent booster available, the Tippecanoe County Health Department announced Tuesday 400 does will be received this week from the Indiana Department of Health.

The doses will be available beginning Thursday, according to the health department's release. The Pfizer bivalent booster is also available.

Pfizer boosters can be given to individuals 12 and older; while Moderna is for those 18 and above.

The bivalent COVID-19 booster, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, includes protection against the original virus as well as the omicron variant.
