Americans seem to be faced with the option to tip more and more frequently. Most choose to spend the few extra bucks. In a 2023 survey from Forbes Advisor, 76% of the 2,000 people surveyed said they tip always or often, and 73% said they tip at least 11% more when they pay digitally versus with cash.

According to Google Trends, interest in tipping culture is also at an all-time high. Americans Googled questions about when and how much tip more than ever last month, and conversations about tipping fatigue, tip creeping and more continue to grow.
