The annual Fort Myers Beach Boat Parade is back!

Yes. It's true.

And it is definitely something to celebrate in a community and throughout a region that continues to recover from the devastating Hurricane Ian that hit on Sept. 28, 2022.

The parade is Saturday (Dec. 2) at 6 p.m. The parade will start from Salty Sam's Marina.

This will be the 35th boat parade for Fort Myers Beach after it was postponed last December because of Hurricane Ian.

Because the recovery is ongoing and there is still a significant amount of debris in some places, including sunken boats, the traditional parade route will be altered this year.

Parade boats will leave Salty Sam’s Marina going past Parrot Key Caribbean Grill heading northwest passing by Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Bonita Bill’s Waterfront Café, then heading under the Matanzas Pass Bridge. They will travel toward Bowditch Point Park and will turn in front of the Pink Shell Beach Resort and Marina. The boats will return back down the bay, traveling past Moss Marina, Snug Harbor, Nervous Nellies and Matanzas on the Bay.

And once again she said there will be a "People's Choice" competition using a QR code that parade-goers can scan as the boats cruise by to pick their favorite.
