Some Tennessee Titans players have tried to recruit free agent defensive end J.J. Watt to Nashville, and linebacker Will Compton is the latest to lobby for the team signing him.

First, it was long snapper Matt Overton, who noted how nice the city of Nashville is while tagging Watt in a tweet shortly after he was released.

Weeks later, left tackle Taylor Lewan channeled “Happy Gilmore” in his pitch to the veteran pass rusher in a post on Instagram.

Now, Compton is doing his part, as he tweeted out a Photoshopped picture of Watt donning a Titans hoodie and with angel wings behind him.

During his last press conference, Titans general manager Jon Robinson confirmed that the team has reached out to Watt’s camp, so there is definitely at least some interest on Tennessee’s part.

More recently, longtime NFL reporter John Clayton said the Titans were one of three favorites to land Watt, while also naming the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills.
