A 70-year-old Titusville man died Oct. 21, just more than two weeks after he was hit by a sedan and thrown almost 10 feet off the road by a sedan, police said.

Howard Raymond Longchamps was walking in the crosswalk at the 3300 block of Dairy Road in Titusville near Oak Park Elementary School, just before arrival time Oct. 5, when he was hit by a sedan, Titusville police said.

The driver, 35-year-old Daniel Emilio Diaz of Titusville, was traveling east in his 2017 Mazda 6 when he hit Longchamps, throwing him almost 10 feet off the road.

Longchamps was transported to a local unspecified hospital in serious condition, police said. He died from his injuries Oct. 21. There were no other injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 321-264-7800 as they continue to investigate the crash.
