Pawl Ruff has found his pawfect home.

Just not with "Ant-Man" actor Paul Rudd.

After the 2-year-old Pawl caught social media's attention for making several facial expressions similar to Rudd, Collierville resident Jennifer Roy immediately sent in her adoption application for him to the Collierville Animal Shelter, 603 E. South St.

On Sunday, Pawl, whose previous name was Waffle House, went home with Roy who then named him Rowdy.

Pawl Ruff, whose real name is Waffle House, is a 2-year-old, 65 pound, Australian Shepherd mix who resembles Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd. Now, the shelter thinks Paul Rudd should adopt his lookalike.

“I had been looking for a dog and was following different shelters in the area," Roy said. "When I saw him, I thought, ‘That’s my dog.' The story blew up and I was worried someone would come get my dog!”

Pawl, now known as Rowdy, is a 65-pound, Australian Shepherd mix who loves to play and was taken into the shelter Jan. 28.

When the Collierville Animal Shelter posted the long-haired pup on its Facebook, a former town resident noticed his similarities to Rudd and made a collage of them side-by-side, with Rudd and Pawl showing of model-like smizes and side smiles.

In efforts to grab Rudd's attention, Pawl made national and international news as People, Daily Mail and ET Canada grabbed the story.

The Commercial Appeal was the first to report on Pawl.

“We did reach out to Paul Rudd’s publicists and asked if they would bring the story to his attention," said Jennifer Casey, Collierville public information officer. "We did not expect him to adopt the dog, we just wanted the story to reach him! And if the story stops here, it is a very happy ending.”

The Collierville Animal Shelter currently has 17 dogs and six cats looking for homes, according to its Pet Finder page. Those looking to adopt an animal must fill out an application on the Town of Collierville's website and email it to casinfo@colliervilletn.gov.
