Tobias Harris explains big night, Hawks star Dejounte Murray reacts

PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers were able to come away with a 104-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night thanks mostly due to the heroics of Joel Embiid down the stretch in his return to the floor, but Tobias Harris was the one who stepped up and had a big impact.

Harris had 24 points on 10-for-18 shooting, he knocked down three triples, and pulled down 10 rebounds. Embiid was the one who got going late, but Harris’ offense was essential in getting the job done and keeping the Sixers afloat before Embiid did his thing.

“Just getting into a flow and a rhythm,” said Harris. “Obviously, presented with the basketball being in my hands more and more opportunities. So just finding my spots and being able to make plays whenever I have the opportunity to. With guys out, the basketball reaches my hands a lot more throughout the offense, and for me, it’s just to be efficient, make the right plays, and continue to find a groove.”

Harris has always been a rhythm player. When he catches the ball and he’s making quick decisions to get to his spots on the floor, then he is going to be effective and the Sixers will reap the benefits of that.

“Those are all things that I’ve always had in my game,” Harris continued. “Just now with this type of opportunity, I just look to continue to be steady with it and do what I can do to help our team win

Hawks star Dejounte Murray, who had a strong game of his own with 17 points and six assists, gave his thoughts on both Harris and Embiid after the Sixers came away with the victory.

“They got to their spots and I wouldn’t agree all the way with some of the calls (from the officials), but those are two talented guys,” Murray said. “Great players and things happen.”
